摘要： A barricade with a plurality of interlocking barricade members hingedly coupled to each other. Each of the interlocking barricade members include two vertical posts between which horizontal barricade members are mounted. The interlocking barricade members includes a base assembly onto which the vertical post is supported, such that the base assembly is rotatable and removable with respect to the vertical post. The base assembly is entirely behind and extends away from the barricade's rear face, thereby keeping the barricade and all its components out of a given walkway to avoid becoming a hazard to pedestrian traffic.

摘要： An apparatus and method are disclosed for providing easily replaceable reflective surfaces for highway barricade barrels. A plurality of plastic bands are provided for securing around the exterior surfaces of the barricade barrels. The plastic bands have outer sides through which a plurality of holes extends. Strips of a reflective tape are secured to the outer sides of the plastic bands. The reflective tape has an adhesive backing which is used for securing the tape to the outer sides of the plastic bands. Mechanical fasteners are passed through the holes to fasten the plastic bands to the barricade barrels. The bands are fastened to the barrels with reflective surfaces of the reflective tape facing outward, away from the barricade barrels.

摘要： This invention describes the design and method of installation of wild animal highway warning reflectors. The reflector consists of a transparent plate having a flat light entrance surface and a backside reflection surface from which the reflected light is dispersed. The rear surface is comprised of many reflecting toric surfaces arranged vertically and horizontally side-by-side. The new design of the toric surfaces and the unique method of installing the reflectors provide complete reflected light coverage for all variations of roadside terrain to warn wild animals that wish to cross a highway at night. To an animal each reflector glitters with colored light. As a vehicle passes, animals see an unnatural, sequence of lights coming from a plurality of reflectors located along both sides of the highway. Installation of these warning reflectors adjacent to highways where wild animals frequently cross has led to a considerable reduction of the number of accidents.

The microprisms are formed with three side surfaces disposed along three intersecting planes, and at least some of the microprisms have at least one side surface which is arcuate along one of the intersecting planes and over at least the major portion of its height. At least some adjacent pairs of microprisms have their prism axes tilted relative to the intersecting plane extending therebetween. The microprisms retroreflect light in six circumferentially spaced radially extending exit-energy patterns, and at least 70 percent of the retroreflected light is within a spread of not more than 0.6.degree. from the light rays impinging thereon.

These are preferably hollow profiles for receiving reinforcement elements with, if necessary, weak points, the elements being easily replaceable after damage; for this purpose they can be elastically clipped in the hollow edge profiles with longitudinal slots. Additional reinforcement elements made of a tough, deformable material, e.g., metal, can be located successively in a longitudinal direction in the actual body of the beacon plate to prevent the springing-back of the beacon after bending or buckling and these can be bent back to assume their initial shape together with the beacon plate.

The reflector comprises a plurality of juxtaposed prisms with the cross section of each prism corresponding essentially to an isosceles, right angled triangle, the hypotenuse surfaces of the prisms forming the rear surfaces. The rear surfaces are capable of reflecting a light beam striking the prisms and at least one of the surfaces of each prism, when viewed in the cross section of the prism, being curved so as to scatter or diffuse reflected light. The rear surfaces of the prisms are either capable of total reflection and/or are provided with mirror layers.

摘要： A marker comprises an annulus having a circumferential groove on each edge to receive reflective lenses which face in opposite directions. There are diametrically opposite apertures in the wall of the annulus for installing it on a rod or stake. Friction creating surfaces are interposed in the path of the rod within the annulus to prevent it from sliding on the rod unless forced. In one embodiment a tube that is tapered from both ends and extends diametrically between apertures produces the friction. In another embodiment spring-like plastic members in the annulus bear on the rod to produce friction. Means are provided for stacking markers at different angles on a stake.
