摘要： A method of making a vehicular subassembly includes a step for providing a roof header comprising a hollow member having a long axis, a short axis, and an outer surface that includes a flange. The method also includes a step of stretch bending the member such that the outer surface is substantially in tension and curved in the short axis direction. The method further includes a step of cutting a plurality of notched elements into the flange to reduce strain from the stretch bending step. In some aspects, the step of cutting can be conducted before the stretch bending to reduce strain in the header associated with the subsequent stretch bending.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a railroad car tank head includes the steps of providing a circular blank of steel plate material, cold-forming the circular blank to form an intermediate ellipsoidal dish, cold-forming a peripheral flange region of the intermediate ellipsoidal dish to form a flanged ellipsoidal dish, and heat treating the flanged ellipsoidal dish. The heat treatment may be either a thermal stress relieving heat treatment or a normalizing heat treatment. The two cold-forming steps may be carried out at room temperature. The present invention provides a method of making a railroad car tank head that is more efficient than prior methods, avoids the challenges of hot-forming and single-stage cold-forming, is easily adaptable to different tank head diameters using the same forming equipment, and yields a railroad car tank head that meets safety standards.

摘要： An upper die part includes an embossing bell, a stripper ring, and an inner shape embossing element. The stripper ring has an embossing surface with a corrugated profile on the embossing surface. A lower die part includes an embossing anvil having a corrugated profile on its embossing surface. The embossing bell and the inner shape embossing element each are provided with an embossing shoulder, which are disposed, with respect to the corrugated profile of the stripper ring, in the stroke direction in such a way that the shoulders can seize the burrs only alter the corrugating step. The corrugating step takes place prior to burr compression. The outer and inner contours of the disk are not able to change positions, but are able to change shapes on the burr side after the corrugating step.

摘要： The structure of a tube expander has a ring and a bearing in the body thereof. An axle goes through the body. A driving head is connected to the axle on the body. The bottom of the axle has a guiding pin and a tapered head. The driving head has an external thread so that it can be rotated into the internal thread of the ring or rotated in the opposite direction out of the internal thread. A compressible elastic element is disposed inside the body and mounted on the axle. The top end of the compressible elastic element urges against the bottom of the ring. The bottom of the compressible elastic element pushes the guiding pin downward so that the external thread becomes idle after being completely rotated out of the internal thread.
