摘要： An electromagnetic relay comprising a fixed end terminal piece including a main part, a narrowed portion extending therefrom, and a relatively broader mounting portion formed at a free end of the narrowed portion and carrying a fixed contact thereon. Since a strong magnetic field in generated by the concentration of electric current in the narrowed portion, and an electric arc generated across the contacts is subjected to a corresponding electromagnetic force according to Fleming's left-hand rule, the arc is either eliminated or deflected from the shortest path between the two contacts, and the welding together of the two contacts is effectively prevented. Also, the durability of the contacts is substantially improved through deflection or elimination of the arc.

摘要： A relay includes a movable element having first and second portions separated from each other. The first portion can be moved between a first stable position corresponding to a state where contacts are closed and a second stable position corresponding to a state where the contacts are opened while abutting against resilient plates. The second portion can push the first portion so that the first portion is moved from the second stable position to the first stable position by application of external force. The second portion is always urged to go away from the first portion by a spring. The first and second portions are disposed to be separated from each other by a distance corresponding to a stroke of the first portion when the first portion is positioned at the first stable position. The first portion of the movable element is moved from the first stable position to the second stable position by a magnetic force of a solenoid coil when sensor terminals are electrically connected to each other.

摘要： An electromagnetic relay, comprising: a box-shaped casing having a bottom wall, a pair of side walls, a pair of end walls, and a top wall, an electromagnet unit received in the casing with its axial direction extending in parallel with the top, bottom and side walls of the casing; and at least one contact unit mounted on the top wall; one of the end walls being provided with an opening for receiving the electromagnet unit therefrom. The inner surfaces of the side walls of the casing are provided with guide grooves extending along a longitudinal direction of the casing for guiding side ends of the yoke when receiving the electromagnet unit into the casing. Thus, simply by press fitting only the electromagnet unit from the opening provided in one of the end walls of the casing, the electromagnet unit may be securely received in the box-shaped casing. This facilitates the required assembly work and permits the use of automated machines for the assembly work. Typically, the electromagnet unit is fixedly and sealingly secured in the casing with an adhesive agent.
