    • Methods and systems for operating an absorber-replenisher to supply fluid to a low pressure circuit in a hydrostatic circuit or recover surplus energy usually wasted across a pressure relief valve in the low pressure side by intensifying it for use in a high pressure circuit in the hydrostatic circuit. The absorber-replenisher 1) allows fluid flow through a high pressure motor-pump section of the absorber-replenisher from a high pressure circuit source causing a low pressure motor-pump section to turn providing additional fluid flow to the hydrostatic circuit, or 2) allows increased fluid flow from the low pressure portion of the hydrostatic circuit to increase pressure until the higher pressure induces a higher net torque of the low pressure motor-pump section to reverse the direction of the absorber-replenisher and pump fluid flow into a high pressure circuit through the high pressure motor-pump section.

    • A machine includes a hydraulic fan system for circulating cooling air through an engine compartment. Periodically, the fan rotation direction is briefly reversed in order to dislodge any material debris that may have accumulated at the inlet to the engine compartment. When a fan reversal event is initiated, the fan motor will continue to rotate due to angular momentum even after the pump output flow has been switched from a first motor port to a second motor port. During this continued rotation as the fan decelerates to zero speed, vacuum pressure levels can arise at the first motor port, and a pressure spike can develop at the second motor port. In order to alleviate these conditions, a pressure transfer valve briefly opens to facilitate fluid flow directly from the second motor port to the first motor port as the fan motor decelerates towards zero speed before reversing direction, simultaneously alleviating vacuum and pressure spike conditions.

    • A pressure selector valve (13) is provided between a hydraulic motor (1) and a directional control valve (5) to connect one of the main conduits (4A), (4B) on a high pressure side to a high pressure conduit (14) while connecting the other of the main conduits on a low pressure side to a low pressure conduit (15). As an inertial body approaches a stop position, a spool valve (16) is switched to an open position (e), bringing a branch passage (14A) of the high pressure conduit (14) into communication with the low pressure conduit. When the pressure difference between the main conduits becomes small, the pressure selector valve is automatically returned to a neutral position to cut off communication between the main conduits, suppressing a reversing movement of the hydraulic motor so that an inertial body can be brought to a stop smoothly.
