摘要： A structure is described for forming a wrapper, e.g., for print media, where the structure includes lines of weakness for facilitating a user's tearing of the wrapper to access the contents. The lines of weakness may include a first line of weakness that extends along a fold line of an envelope fold forming one of the front or rear or right sides of the wrapped package, as well as a second line of weakness that extends substantially perpendicularly to the respective longitudinal fold lines and a third line of weakness that extends between the first line of weakness and the second line of weakness and is disposed at a non-zero angle with respect to each. In this way, a tear initiated near the first line of weakness and may be propagated along the other lines of weakness to create an opening for accessing the product.

摘要： Disclosed herein are water-soluble films including a polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) resin blend and optionally one or more additional components such as plasticizers, fillers, surfactants, and other additives. Also disclosed herein are articles including the water-soluble film and containing a composition such as a household care composition. The PVOH resin blend includes a PVOH copolymer including one or more types of anionic monomer units such as a PVOH terpolymer and a PVOH polymer such as a partially or completely hydrolyzed PVOH homopolymer. When the PVOH copolymer and PVOH polymer are blended in particular proportions and/or selected with regard to various criteria related to the 4% solution viscosity of one or both of the PVOH polymer(s) and PVOH copolymer(s), the resulting water-soluble film formed from the PVOH resin blend exhibits substantially improved aqueous dissolution properties.

摘要： A thin, multi-layer, flexible web of self-adhering wrapping material, typically paper, foil, polymer, or metalized polymer having a first layer having indicia on an outfacing major surface, pressure-sensitive or the like adhesive disposed on an opposing major surface, and a selectively removable protective layer over the adhesive. The protective layer is formed from a plurality of individual small, spaced-apart portions that facilitate their removal. Alignment indicia (e.g., gridlines, rulers, etc.) may be provided on the protective layer. In alternate embodiments, a chemically activatable adhesive may be used to replace a pressure sensitive adhesive. The wrapping material may be provided in sheets of different sizes or in continuous rolls.

The flexible wrapping material is then folded about the one or more crease lines when encapsulating an item to be wrapped within the flexible wrapping material. The flexible wrapping material may have poor dead-fold characteristics and can comprise a flow-wrapping material. A single laser or multiple lasers can serve to form the one or more crease lines. The crease lines can be formed on a same side of the flexible wrapping material or on both sides thereof. By one approach, folding the flexible wrapping material about the one or more crease lines forms, at least in part, a form-factor conformal pocket to accommodate the aforementioned item. By another approach, folding the flexible wrapping material about the one or more crease lines forms, at least in part, a gusset.

摘要： There is provided an improved sterilization wrap and a method for using the improved sterilization wrap to sterilize an article. The wrap is made of at least a first panel of sterilization material and includes an additional panel of material. The first panel is multi-layered and includes at least one pathogen filtration layer. The first panel is rectangular and has an outer periphery and a central portion. The outer periphery includes first, second, third and fourth edges. The additional panel of material is bonded to the first panel, approximately at a forty-five degree angle to the first panel, with a substantial portion of the additional panel being adjacent to the central portion of the first panel. The perimeter of the additional panel is smaller than the perimeter of the first panel. Portions of the additional panel are bonded to the first panel along the first, second, third and fourth edges of the first panel. The article to be sterilized is placed on the additional panel, is wrapped, and sterilant is applied to the wrapped article. A chemical visual indicator is provided to indicate whether or not the article has been exposed to adequate sterilization conditions.
