    • A method and system for generating programming code and/or configuration data for programmable controller and the networks on which they operate is disclosed. In one embodiment, programming code is generated on a centralized server having a web-enabled engineering tool. The engineering tool operates on client devices that are in communication with the server over a network, such as the Internet. Preferably, the engineering tool runs in a browser application (or other network-interfacing-application) on the client device and a user generates the programming code on the server with the aid of the client device. By centralizing the engineering tool, which may contain a configuration editor and a configuration management tool having version management functionality, a new business paradigm for providing engineering tool services to customers having programmable controllers. In addition, new methods and tools for collaborative engineering of programming code are enabled.

    • A modular motor controller family comprises a housing. Solid state switches are selected from one of plural switch sizes for controlling a desired voltage and current range. The switches are mounted in the housing for connection between an AC line and motor terminals for controlling application of AC power to the motor. A logic circuit board is mounted in the housing including logic circuitry for commanding operation of the solid state switches independent of the selected switch size. An interface circuit board selected from one of plural configurations is mounted in the housing and includes interface circuitry connected between the logic circuitry and the solid state switches. The interface circuitry is selected to interface with the selected switch size according to the desired voltage and current range.

    • For use in switchgear equipment having bus bars joined together at a bus joint, there is provided a bus joint cover assembly and method. The bus joint cover assembly comprises a collar member having a snap slot. A cap member having a boss snap is configured to engage the snap slot. The cap member is configured to telescopically join with the collar member around the bus joint wherein the bus joint is contained within the bus joint cover assembly. The bus joint cover assembly can include a side cover member configured to position between the collar member and the cap member. The side cover member can be configured to provide a passage for bus bars and can be configured as a bus end cover.

    • A contact assembly for use in an electrical switching apparatus has an actuator. An enclosure comprises an interior space housing first and second stationary contacts fixedly mounted in spaced relation with one another in one of a normally closed position or a normally open position. A pusher is movably mounted in the enclosure and is selectively driven by the actuator to move between a normal position and an actuated position. The pusher comprises a top wall, a bottom wall and first and second side walls connected between the top wall and bottom wall to define an opening having respective first and second ends. First and second longitudinally spaced top ribs are on an inside of the top wall proximate the respective first and second side walls. First and second longitudinally spaced bottom ribs are in an inside of the bottom wall proximate the respective first and second side walls and laterally offset from the respective first and second top ribs. A movable contact is received in the opening. A contact spring is captured between the top rib and the bottom rib at either the first or the second end of the opening to bias the movable contact against the top rib and the bottom rib at the other of the first end and second end of the opening.
