    • An internal combustion engine includes a crank shaft having a crank web, a crank pin on one end of the crank web, and a weight on an opposite end of the crank web, a crank case supporting the crank shaft therein, a cylinder, a piston reciprocally fitted in the cylinder, a rod coupled to the piston by a piston pin and connecting the piston to the crank pin for reciprocally moving the piston in the cylinder, the crank case having an opening and extending obliquely to axes of the crank shaft and the cylinder. The cylinder has an end corresponding to a bottom dead center of the piston and having a first recess opening toward the opening, the first recess being of a size allowing the piston pin to pass therethrough when the piston is in the bottom dead center. The weight on the crank web has on one side a second recess of a shape defining with the end of the cylinder a space allowing the piston as disconnected from the rod to pass therethrough.

    • A high-performance surface acoustic wave filter is provided having a relative band width greater than 0.2, a shape factor less than 1.5, and a flat group delay time characteristic. The filter has input and output transducers, each with overlapped interdigital electrode fingers, spaced on the surface of a piezoelectric substrate, including an apodized transducer and a second transducer. The envelope of the overlapped portions of the electrode fingers in the apodized transducer includes a main lobe and a plurality of side lobes. The height of side lobes of the apodized transducer which are located farther from the second transducer is greater than the height of side lobes nearer the second transducer. The heights of corresponding side lobes on opposite sides of the main lobe are mathematically related.

    • A motor speed control system controls the rotation speed of the motor in accordance with the pulse width of a speed control pulse signal applied to the motor speed control system. The system comprises a venturi for producing a vacuum dependent on rapid acceleration, a vacuum sensor for sensing the vacuum in the venturi at rapid acceleration of the internal combustion engine and producing an output signal dependent thereon, an intake opening in the venturi for communicating the vacuum with said vacuum sensor, pulse width modulator for producing a pulse width modulating signal when an output signal of the vacuum sensor rises above a predetermined level at a rapid acceleration, the pulse width modulator being connected to the electronic control circuit, such that said pulse width modulating signal is fed to said electronic control circuit for modulating the width of said square wave pulses in dependency on the rapid acceleration for enriching the air-fuel mixture.
