摘要： The present invention is directed to prevention of breakdown caused by electrostatic discharge in an MR element. An MR element constitutes a read element. A head support device 2 supports a magnetic head 1. A lead wire 3 is constituted with at least a pair of lead wires 31 and 32 and each of the pair of lead wires 31 and 32 is connected to the read element at one end. A terminal board 5 is provided with at least one pair of terminal conductors 52 and 53 on top of a hard substrate 51. The pair of terminal conductors 52 and 53 are provided with connecting areas 54 and 55 respectively on the same side, to which one end of which are connected the other ends of the lead wires 31 and 32 respectively. The pair of terminal conductors 52 and 53 are electrically shorted from each other by a shorting portion 56 at a rearward position which is away from the connecting areas 54 and 55 over a distance. The substrate 51 is provided with grooves or perforations 57 which facilitate the cutting operation between the shorting portion 56 and the connecting areas 54 and 55.

摘要： An image processing apparatus reads color images, identifies the colors of an read color image, converts the color image into a monochrome image, synthesizes color recognition information on the monochrome image, and prints the resulting synthesized image as a monochrome image. As a result, even if a low-priced printer is employed, it is possible to provide a monochrome image permitting recognition of the colors of the color original, or quick identification of differences among the colors thereof. Moreover, this allows a user to specify a desired graphic pattern to be associated with a given color, and to obtain collation tables independently of the monochrome image, or to print the specified graphic pattern with any variable magnification power.

摘要： A corrosion degree measuring method capable of field measurement for intergranular corrosion, particularly the sensitization degree, of the plant's structural materials in a narrow space. The metal electrode made of a material being measured and the counter electrode to the metal electrode are immersed in an electrolytic solution. A voltage is applied to the metal electrode in the anodic direction so as to raise the potential of the metal electrode up to the passive state potential and to keep the metal electrode at the passive state potential. The passive state potential is used as a reference potential, and a pulse-like potential signal is applied to the metal electrode in the cathodic direction. At the time of the application of the pulse potential signal, a current between the metal electrode and the counter electrode is measured, and the corrosion degree of the material being measured is determined from the intensity of the current.

摘要： A driving apparatus of a curtain includes a field portion disposed in a curtain rail containing a curved portion. The field portion includes a yoke and a magnet group having magnetic poles disposed along the yoke alternately so that adjacent poles are different from each other and which is preferably formed of a flexible rubber magnet. Further, a commutator which switches the polarity for the movable portion is provided to form a linear motor and thereby the polarity of a dc power source for energizing the commutator is switched so that the curtain attached, at an end thereof, to the movable portion is moved along the curtain rail in one direction and the opposite direction to open and close the curtain.
