    • An interfacing method and Virtual Internet Protocol (VIP) Framework that provides high fault tolerance and linear scalability of servers and network interfaces. The Framework has minimal impact on the surrounding network infrastructure. The preferred embodiment operates at the IP level, thus enabling the Framework to operate with any application that runs on top of IP. Incoming data packets and packet fragments are received from the Internet in a plurality of network terminations. Routing processes provide external routers with addresses of the network terminations. Each network termination is associated with one of a plurality of forwarding processes, and each forwarding process is connected to a plurality of fragmenter/de-fragmenters. Each forwarding process selects a single fragmenter/de-fragmenter to receive all of the incoming data packets and packet fragments having a common source address. The incoming packets and packet fragments are then sent to the selected fragmenter/de-fragmenter where they are reassembled if necessary. The selected fragmenter/de-fragmenter identifies a valid application server and sends the reassembled incoming data packets to the identified server. Servers with outgoing messages select a fragmenter/de-fragmenter which fragments the data packets if required, and uses the routing process to select a forwarding process to route the packets and fragments to a network termination and the Internet.

    • A method of reserving lookup keys in a computer communication system including a hierarchy of key manager nodes includes receiving a first reservation request at a first key manager node at a first level of the hierarchy of key manager nodes. The first reservation request requests reservation of a lookup key. The methods include determining whether or not the first key manager node has authority to grant the reservation request, and, in response to determining that the first key manager node does not have authority to grant the reservation request, sending a second reservation request requesting reservation of the lookup key to a second key manager node that is at a second level of the hierarchy of key manager nodes.

Overpressure inside the intake ducts can be discharged to a volume between the air filter and the respective compressor. The released pressure prevents or at least reduces the risk that compressed air inside the intake ducts may flow against the first compressor and the second compressor, so that the noise emission associated with this backflow is reduced or even prevented.

    • A turbocharger unit for a multicylinder internal combustion engine has at least two exhaust lines for the evacuation of exhaust gases from the combustion chamber of the engine and at least one inlet line for the supply of air to the combustion chamber. The turbocharger unit includes at least one turbine which cooperates with at least one compressor to extract energy from the exhaust flow of the engine and pressurize the inlet air of the engine. The turbine is provided with a worm-shaped housing having at least two flow paths which are defined by guide tongues in the housing and which conduct mutually separate exhaust flows via stator blades to at least one turbine wheel. In order to maintain the kinetic energy in the separate exhaust flows, each respective guide tongue meets a stator blade extending toward the tongue.
