    • The present invention is directed generally to phased array antennas. The invention allows for the realization of a low-cost, ferroelectric material loaded feed manifold for phase shifting an antenna. This type of architecture can take many forms, with the preferred embodiment being waveguide. In an embodiment of the present invention, the Ferroelectric/Paralectric/Composite material loaded feed manifold described herein may solve the space/weight problem by integrating the material into the traditional waveguide feed manifold. A feed structure suitable for receiving and routing electromagnetic energy may include a subassembly including material suitable for shifting phase of electromagnetic radiation when an electrical field is applied. Material having a dielectric constant at least one of equal to and greater than the phase shifting material may also be included.

    • The present disclosure includes a method for producing a multi-band waveguide reflector antenna feed. The antenna feed includes a first tube and a second tube. The first and second tubes are connected to form a concentric multi-band waveguide feed array. The first tube includes a surface(s) which is/are at least partially covered by metamaterial(s), thereby forming a first waveguide feed. The second tube also includes a surface(s) which is/are at least partially covered by metamaterial(s). A radial separation is established between the first tube and the second tube, thereby forming a second waveguide feed. The radial separation may be maintained between the first tube and the second tube by one or more of: a loading material, support structures, strings, and wires. The loading material, support columns, strings, and/or wires also structurally interconnect the first tube and the second tube.

    • A feed for an antenna configured for use with a radar system or a satellite communication system is configured to operate in multiple bands. The feed comprises a plurality of concentric waveguides. The feed further comprises a first pair of diametrically opposed probes forming a first axis and electrically coupled to at least one of the plurality of concentric waveguides. The feed further comprises a second pair of diametrically opposed probes forming a second axis and electrically coupled to the at least one of the plurality of concentric waveguides. The first and second axis are orthogonal and the first and second pairs of diametrically opposed probes are configured to generate a sum beam and difference beam in the at least one of the plurality of concentric waveguides.
