    • The invention comprises an apparatus for removing from the outer surface the raised bead resulting from welding in the manufacture of continuous seam-welded metal tubes. A stage or travelling support block mounted for movement transversely of the advancing tube carries a pair of scarfing blades, each of which may have a plurality of cutting edges moveable seriatim into operative position. Adjusting screws operatively connected to the stage permit the stage and the scarfing blades thereon to be manually adjusted both laterally and vertically relative to the tube, and to selectively position either one of the scarfing blades for bead removal. A piston rod is connected by suitable linkage to the stage for rapidly advancing and retracting the stage upon command to move the scarfing blade into and out of operative position.

    • A device for removing a weld bead from the external periphery of a plastic gas pipe.The device (FIG. 2) has a body 10 with an inclined reaction surface 13 and a blade 21. The blade 21 is engaged with a bead 22 and the portion 22a of the bead 22 which is lifted is gripped between a toothed wheel 17 and the inclined surface 21. As the wheel 17 is rotated by use of a lever 18 operating via a ratchet, the device is moved bodily around the circumference of a pipe 31 to remove the bead 22.Retractable and adjustable stabilising means 25, 28 etc. are provided and there is a hardened end portion 20 on the body 10 to enable the device to be hammered to engage the blade in the bead initially.

    • A scarfing tool for scarfing the inside of a tube-like member in which an elongated body is adapted for attachment to the end of an impeder rod. The body includes a cutting tool and a pair of spaced apart rollers aligned with the cutting tool. A thrust roller is pivotably mounted to the side of the body opposite from the cutting tool and rollers to force the cutting tool against the inner area of the tube member to be scarfed. A pair of first and second hydraulic means having associated pistons which are connected to a common source of hydraulic fluid. The first hydraulic piston is operably connected to said thrust roller for actuating said roller into extended contact with the inner tube member and the second piston is operably connected to a bias means to work against said means as the thrust roller is extended by the first hydraulic piston.

    • The chiseling or trimming machine serves primarily to deburr welding seams from frames welded together of profiled plastic parts, such as are used for facades, doors and windows. The machine has a bearing surface on which the workpiece to be machined is placed against a stop angle and held firmly by means of holder cylinders. Furthermore the machine has a workpiece carrier displaceable with a transport device, and the tool holder supporting the chiseling or trimming die is supported on the tool carrier such that it yields in the upward direction in response to pressure. The bench machine is embodied as a hand-operated machine such that the bearing surfaces as well as at least one handle are disposed on an upper crosspiece of the tool carrier with its transport device, and that this crosspiece is connected by means of two rods with a lower crosspiece disposed parallel to the upper bearing surface.

    • A portable machining device that is particularly useful for removing excess peripheral weld from the flat surface of welded-in valves such as breech lock gate valves. The portable machining device includes a housing, a cutting tool, a vertical feed mechanism, a horizontal feed mechanism, and a rotation drive mechanism. The vertical feed and rotation drive mechanisms have central openings for receiving the upward extending valve stem from the surface to be machined. The base of the housing is ring shaped and includes slots for attachment to the flat surface of the valve. In operation, the cutting tool is rotated and fed vertically and horizontally to machine the excess weld to be flush with the flat surface.
