In the resin pellet dryer, a pellet containing section formed by laying a plurality of tubes horizontally in parallel with each other and adapted to contain pellets in the inside, screw feeders arranged in the respective tubes, vacuum means for establishing a predetermined vacuum level in the inside of the pellet containing section, heaters arranged at the respective tubes so as to heat the inside of the pellet containing section to a predetermined temperature level, shutters arranged respectively at the uppermost tube and at the lowermost tube of the pellet containing section, and control means for controlling the actuators, the electric motors for screw feeders and the vacuum means for operation and the heaters for temperature.

    • A continuous drying system for flake-formed or granular solid, of which bottom inside surface is semi-cylindrical and arranged almost horizontally, comprises drying system main body having a supplying means of a drying object at one end thereof and having a discharging means at the other end thereof, and a coil-formed sending apparatus arranged rotatably inside the main body, and a bar-formed or blade-formed stirring member arranged between the sending apparatus transversely. The drying object is transferred by said coil-formed sending apparatus, and a part of the drying object is retreated while stirring by scooping up the drying object with the stirring member along the inside surface of the main body of the drying object. The transfer of the drying object is delayed in comparison with the rotation of the sending apparatus.

    • The apparatus includes a channel having an inlet end for receiving particulate material to be dehydrated and an outlet end for discharging the particulate material in a dehydrated condition. A screw conveyor rotatably mounted in the channel advances the particulate material while stirring the particulate material to enhance the release of water and noxious vapors. A fan creates an air current in the channel to entrain water and noxious vapors released by the particulate material. The vapors are directed toward a heating chamber which incinerates dangerous and odoriferous compounds as much as possible. The resulting gaseous media is directed through a passage in a heat-exchange relationship with the channel to elevate the temperature of the particulate material that is being processed and to cause same to release water and noxious vapors. The passage is isolated from the channel to avoid direct contract between the burned gases that are released in the atmosphere with yet unburned gases aspirated from the channel.

    • This invention comprises a radiant heater for use in thermally processing granular polymers and powders. The heater comprises an enclosed air-tight case for housing the reflector, the electrical and structural elements, and the lamps and lamp chamber. These comonents are all enclosed behind a quartz window, and the components and lamp chamber are forced air cooled. A plurality of air passages are provided for the case at the junctures of the window edges and surrounding wall portions of the case. These passages form air venting openings or nozzles which serve to discharge the gaseous coolant in the form of high velocity jet streams which are directed along the outside surface of the window.
