    • Disclosed is an operational switch for a microwave oven using a pair of gears and a pair of micro switches in order for a magnetron and a heater of a microwave oven to operate. At the rear surface of a control panel, a first switch for turning on/off the magnetron and a first gear having a pair of pushing pieces for controlling the first switch are installed. At an edge of the first gear a second switch for controlling the heater is provided. A second gear for controlling the second switch is provided while meshing together with a power controlling gear of a timer body. A pair of pushing pieces are protrudingly formed on the surface of second gear. The first gear further includes a stopper and a pair of impeding pieces for limiting the rotation range and a pair of elastic pieces and a ring type guiding member for guiding the rotation. According to the invention, the productivity of a microwave oven can be improved because the number of components of a microwave oven is reduced, the bad quality components are avoided from being produced, and the assembling time of a microwave oven is shortened.

    • The invention discloses a circuit for precisely measuring the weight of the cooking food in a microwave oven. The circuit is capable of reducing the variation of the weight-voltage converted value due to the existence of the tray during the measurement of the weight of the cooking stuff. The circuit includes: a piezo-electric sensor for generating a sinusoidal wave each time each of rollers passes the pressing plate of said sensor; a filtering section for shaping the weight-voltage converted sinusoidal wave of said piezo-electric sensor; an amplifying section for amplifying the weight-voltage converted sinusoidal wave output of said filtering section to above the maximum recognizable voltage Vmax of a microprocessor; a rectifying section for charging or discharging the weight-voltage converted sinusoidal wave output of said amplifying section; and a buffer section for supplying to said microprocessor the weight-voltage converted output having a corrected gradient as a result of adding an adder voltage (-V1) as much as the minimum recognizable voltage Vmin of said microprocessor to the weight-voltage converted gradient of said rectifying section.

    • A conductive structure for use in microwave food packaging which adapts itself to heat food articles in a safer, more uniform manner is disclosed. The structure includes a conductive layer disposed on a non-conductive substrate. Provision in the structure's conductive layer of fuse links and base areas causes microwave induced currents to be channeled through the fuse links, resulting in a controlled heating. When over-exposed to microwave energy, fuses break more readily than the conductive base areas resulting in less absorption of microwave energy in the area of fuse breaks than in other regions where fuses do not break. The arrangement and dimensions of fuse links compensate for known uneven stresses in the substrate, giving uniform fuse performance. In addition, by varying the dimensions of the fuse links and base areas it is possible to design and fabricate different fused microwave conductive structures having a wide range of heating characteristics. Thus, a fused microwave conductive structure permits food heating temperatures to be tuned for food type.
