    • A portable single-point beveling tool includes a tool housing, an associated tool drive mechanism and a base member which is rotatably supported on the housing for rotary motion about a rotation axis and arranged to be rotated by the tool drive mechanism. The base member has a portion which extends in a generally radial direction with respect to the rotation axis. The base member carries a cutting tool holder assembly, which includes a cutting tool holder. The base member also carries a cutting tool feed assembly, which is arranged to simultaneously drive the cutting tool holder assembly in a linear radial direction and the cutting tool holder in a linear axial direction with respect to the rotation axis. Rotary motion of the base member actuates the cutting tool feed assembly to drive the cutting tool holder assembly and the cutting tool holder.

    • A tool for cutting or milling casing in a well is disclosed. It includes a plurality of blades extending outwardly to a substantially radial position for cutting the walls of casing strings and removing a predetermined length of the casing strings in a cutting action. The blades have cutting elements positioned on leading faces of the blades to engage the casing strings in a cutting action without tripping or removal from the bore hole. The cutting elements can be arranged in rows and columns. The cutting elements can be shaped to continually present a sharp cutting edge to the object being milled. The cutting elements can be inclined at a negative axial rake angle to cause the metal chips cut from the object being milled to break off at short lengths. The cutting element can also have surface irregularities to cause the metal chips cut from the casings to break off at short lengths. The cutting element can also have stress relieving grooves to prevent the propagation of a crack across the face of the element.

    • A power driven pipe threading machine is provided with a coolant system by which an oil free, glycol based coolant is dispensed onto the workpiece during thread cutting in the area thereof adjacent a thread cutting die at a rate which provides for the coolant to completely evaporate and for the workpiece to be cooled to a temperature which provides a good quality thread. The coolant is pumped from a reservoir to a coolant outlet on the die head of the machine and through a needle valve by which the discharge rate is adjustable, and a torque responsive shut-off valve is associated with the die head for controlling the flow of coolant from the reservoir to the needle valve and coolant outlet in response to initial threading engagement between the workpiece and cutting dies on the die head.
