摘要： A device for the recovery of noble metals emanating from the surface of catalysts used in high pressure gas reactions involving absorbing the noble metal dispersed in the reaction gas in an intercepting bed formed of acid-soluble metal oxides in which the external boundary surface of the intercepting bed is 1.5 to 20 times the cross-sectional area of the catalyst surface. The thickness of the intercepting bed, in the direction of gas flow through the material thereof, is 20 to 40 mm., and the flow of the reaction gases in the intercepting bed is in a direction parallel to the plane of the supporting base of the bed.

摘要： A battery of filter chambers, each divided into an upper and a lower compartment by a filter bed of granular material supported on a foraminous sheet has a purified gas manifold permanently communicating with the several lower compartments and valves associated with respective upper compartments for alternatively connecting the upper compartments with a raw gas intake or a scavenging gas discharge conduit. A preliminary separator in the intake removes suspended coarse particles from the raw gas, and a separator in the scavenging gas discharge conduit separates solid particles from the scavenging gas flowing from the upper compartment. The suction port of a circulating fan is connected to the scavenging gas conduit, and its pressure port is connected to the raw gas intake. An exhaust fan draws raw gas into the intake and discharges purified gas from the manifold.

摘要： A cooler-filter unit connected between a governor-controlled compressor and an air tank. The unit directs compressor air along the inside surface of a metal housing for cooling, moisture being trapped in a sump. The air reverses flow to separate particles and passes through an annular filter and desiccant bed to the outlet. A water dump valve responsive to governor signals is located within the housing so that the warm circulating air will prevent its freezing. The filter and desiccant are carried by a separate housing and should the filter become clogged, air pressure will shift this housing to bypass the air directly to the outlet. In the event of governor failure to stop the compressor, high pressure will open the water dump valve which will act as a pop-off valve.
