摘要： An apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving data in a mobile communication system using multiple antennas are provided. A receiver estimates a fading channel of received data, selects a weight set relative to a maximum data transmission rate from at least one weight set with elements of a plurality of orthogonal weight vectors, and transmits feedback information including the selected weight set and channel-by-channel state information to a transmitter. The transmitter demultiplexes data to be transmitted on a basis of the feedback information into at least one sub-data stream, multiplies each sub-data stream by an associated weight, and transmits the data.

摘要： Apparatus, and an associated method, for facilitating selection of optimal antenna weightings by which to weight signals sent in a communication system that utilizes closed-loop transmit diversity. A deterministic perturbation gradient approximation technique is utilized in which perturbation vectors are selected by a selector and applied, by an applicator, to antenna weighting elements. A selected set of perturbation vectors are applied to the antenna weighting elements in both a positive direction and a negative direction. A detector at a receiving station measures in disassociated with the signals communicated thereto, once weighted with the perturbation vectors. A single-bit feedback value is returned to the sending station, and the antenna weightings are appropriately adjusted. The technique is utilized during both non-handoff conditions and during handoff conditions.

A wireless communications system may support compression of channel information (e.g., channel feedback) in accordance with multiple compression schemes, from which a transmitting device may select for a channel reporting transmission. For example, a user equipment (UE) may be configured with multiple channel state information compression schemes, corresponding to different encoders or decoders, which may involve various machine learning or neural network techniques. The UE may select or otherwise determine which compression scheme to use for channel reporting in various scenarios, including a selection based on whether a compression scheme maintains relatively accurate reporting, or whether a more power-intensive or processor-intensive compression scheme is supported by an operating mode of the UE, among other selection criteria. The UE may indicate which compression scheme was selected by a transmitted indication included with or otherwise accompanying a channel reporting transmission.

摘要： A method for transmitting and receiving a codebook subset restriction bitmap is provided. The Codebook Subset Restriction (CSR) bitmap transmission method of an evolved Node B (eNB) in transmission mode 9 for communication with 8 antenna ports includes generating a CSR bitmap including bits corresponding to restricted precoding matrix indicators and rank indicators that are not allowed for reporting and transmitting the CSR bitmap to a User Equipment (UE). The CSR bitmap comprises 53 bits corresponding to a first codebook and 56 bits corresponding to a second codebook, the 53 bits corresponding to a first codebook comprise 16, 16, 4, 4, 4, 4, and 1 bits for layers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, respectively, and the 56 bits corresponding to a second codebook comprise 16, 16, 16 and 8 bits for layers 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively.
