    • The present invention provides a connection device for stabilizing contact between the external connectors (spherical contactors) of electrical parts and spiral contactors. As shown in FIG. 5A, the directions of the windings of adjacent spiral contactors 20 are opposite to each other. Further, as shown in FIG. 5B, when the directions of the windings of adjacent spiral contactors 20 are opposite to each other and the positions of forming the starting ends of the windings of adjacent spiral contactors 20 are formed in a difference of 180° between them, tensile stresses between adjacent spiral contactors 20 can cancel each other out. By doing so, since distortion generated in a substrate on which the spiral contactors 20 are provided can be minimized, contact between the spherical contactors and the spiral contactors 20 can be stabilized.

    • An integrated circuit socket with capacitors and shunts is disclosed. According to one embodiment of the invention, a socket is divided into a shunt area, a socket pin area, and a land side capacitor area. The shunt area may contain a variable number of power shunts, ground shunts, and capacitors. The capacitors are connected across, and serve to decouple, power shunts and ground shunts. The shunts are to supply an electrical current from the capacitors to an integrated circuit device. The socket pin area may be surrounded by a metal fence serving as to lessen electromagnetic interference and as a ground and/or signal reference. The fence may be divided into sub-areas each comprising a coaxial differential signal pin opening pair. In alternate designs, an elongated power bar may serve as a power or ground shunt and may be used with several capacitors.

    • An electrical plug and receptacle having safety features is provided. The plug includes a body, at least two conductors, and a skirt. The conductors extend from the body and are laterally surrounded by the skirt. The skirt is retractable into the body so that when the plug is used with a conventional receptacle, the skirt retracts into the body as the conductors are inserted the sockets of the receptacle, shielding a user from inadvertently touching the conductors. The plug further includes a toggle stop that locks the skirt into its fully extended position for using the plug with a safety electrical outlet assembly of the present invention. The safety outlet assembly includes a cover and a receptacle adapted to be secured to an electrical junction box. The receptacle has a receiver adapted to matingly engage the skirt on the safety plug. The cover is removably secured to the receptacle and includes an aperture having a periphery spaced-apart from the outer periphery of the receiver to define an opening for receiving a skirt of a safety plug.

    • A relay socket is attachable to a cutout in a panel. The relay socket includes a base, at least one rocker beam element at one side of said base, and at least one active snap element at the opposite side of said base. The elements are constructed and arranged so that the socket may be inserted into place by engaging the rocker beam element on one side of a cutout in a panel and pivoting the active snap element toward the opposite side of the cutout so that it engages the opposite side of the cutout and moves inwardly and is inserted into the cutout in the panel in which position it moves outwardly to engage the opposite side of the cutout and the elements cooperatively hold the socket onto the panel. There is also an assembly which includes the relay socket 12. This assembly includes the panel with a cutout into which the relay socket is to be attached as well as the relay itself in the other side of the panel from the relay. There is a connection arrangement which has less parts and is easier and faster to assemble than previously.
