The mounting block has first and second ends, first and second sides, a top, a bottom and a longitudinal axis between the first and second ends and includes a base, first and second walls defining a channel and, optionally, first and second coupling mechanisms. Recessed portions and indentations on the top of the side walls receive connectors at different orientations. Coupling mechanisms can be formed on the exterior sides of the mounting block for attaching support blocks. The meter jaws are attached to the top of the side walls and configured to receive the blade contacts of watthour meters.

摘要： An electrical connector is provided for connection to a high speed cable, such as of quad cable construction. The connector includes a tubular outer shell having a cavity formed therethrough that extends between loading and mating ends of the shell. A unitary dielectric member is inserted into the cavity and provided with a plurality of contact passages formed therethrough, each of which receives a rear loaded contact. The dielectric member includes a flared section having collets about the perimeter of the dielectric material and extending along a portion of the length of the dielectric material. The collets permit the flared section to collapse onto the contact passages to positively and firmly grip the contacts inserted within the contact passages. The unitary dielectric member affords an easily manufactured connector that maintains the contacts and wires within a predefined geometry with respect to the axis of the connector and at a predefined position along the length of the connector.

The conductors extend from the body and are laterally surrounded by the skirt. The skirt is retractable into the body so that when the plug is used with a conventional receptacle, the skirt retracts into the body as the conductors are inserted the sockets of the receptacle, shielding a user from inadvertently touching the conductors. The plug further includes a toggle stop that locks the skirt into its fully extended position for using the plug with a safety electrical outlet assembly of the present invention. The safety outlet assembly includes a cover and a receptacle adapted to be secured to an electrical junction box. The receptacle has a receiver adapted to matingly engage the skirt on the safety plug. The cover is removably secured to the receptacle and includes an aperture having a periphery spaced-apart from the outer periphery of the receiver to define an opening for receiving a skirt of a safety plug.

摘要： An electric meter socket for connecting electrical conductors thereto includes a meter socket block configured to receive at least one lug assembly. The lug assembly is configured to receive an electrical conductor and may include a lug and sliding nut. The lug includes a slide path that allows the sliding nut to be removed from the lug so an electrical conductor can be placed in the lug for connection to the meter socket. To prevent the sliding nut from sliding out of the lug until an electrical conductor is ready to be connected, the meter socket block includes at least one breakable tab that blocks the slide path, thus retaining the sliding nut within the lug. The breakable tab may be removed when an electrical conductor is ready to be connected. Methods of assembling a meter socket and of connecting electrical conductors thereto are also provided, as are other aspects.
