摘要： A process to prepare a polyester polymer composition comprising a polyester polymer having furanic units is disclosed. The process comprises the step of reacting a cyclic polyester oligomer in the presence of a catalyst in a ring-opening polymerization step under conditions of a reaction temperature and reaction time sufficient to yield a polyester polymer having furanic units. The invention further relates to a polyester polymer composition obtainable by said process, wherein the polyester polymer composition comprises a polyester polymer having furanic units and a cyclic polyester oligomer comprising either structure Y1 or Y2, preferably in a concentration of less than 5 wt %, more preferably less than 1, more preferably less than 0.5 in the composition. The present invention further relates also to the use of said polyester polymer composition in extrusion, injection molding, or blow molding.

摘要： Plastic containers are described herein that are injection molded with an high density polyethylene (HDPE) blow molding grade resin having a density of about 0.960 to about 0.965 g/cc and a melt index of about 0.7 to about 1.0 g/10 min. at injection temperatures of about 570° F. to about 670° F. and mold cavity pressures of about 20,000 psig to about 27,000 psig. Relatively thin walled, rigid, containers, such as livestock feed containers, may be manufactured as described using about 20% to 50% less material while retaining strength and durability comparable to containers molded of HDPE injection molding grade resins.

摘要： Blow molded articles are made from a polymeric composition containing a mixture of polyphenylene sulfide resins. For instance, the polymeric composition may contain a linear polyphenylene sulfide resin combined with a branched polyphenylene sulfide resin. The composition can further contain a reinforcing agent, such as glass fibers, a polytetrafluoroethylene polymer, a polyphenylene oxide polymer, a silane coupling agent, and/or an impact modifier. Compositions made according to the present disclosure can have relatively high near zero shear rate melt strengths while also having high shear rate melt viscosities and high engineering stresses at a high percent elongations, making the compositions amenable to extrusion and molding processes. Compositions made according to the present disclosure are particularly well suited to molding articles with a complex shape. When producing blow molded articles, for instance, the composition provides better control over wall thickness while having improved interior surface smoothness at higher throughput and extrusion rates.

摘要： An apparatus is disclosed that is used for making flexible tubing with annular corrugations from a sleeve of uncured rubber. The sleeve is positioned on a mandrel and radially expanded by fluid pressure into an external forming member that includes a plurality of annular discs loosely connected to a support and positioned in approximate axial alignment. A disc aligning tube is located around an axial length portion of the external forming member. While the sleeve is radially expanded, the aligning tube is slid in an axial direction to engage the discs and to urge any misaligned discs into accurate axial alignment.
