    • An actuator including a ceramic substrate and at least one piezeoelectric/electrostrictive element formed on the substrate is disclosed. The ceramic substrate includes a spacer plate having at least one window which provides at least one pressure chamber, each window being substantially closed by a closure plate and a connecting plate. The spacer plate, closure plate and connecting plate are formed from respective ceramic green sheets which are laminated on each other and fired into an integral ceramic structure as the ceramic substrate. The connecting plate has at least one slit which corresponds to each pressure chamber. Each piezoelectric/electrostrictive element is disposed on a portion of the closure plate defining the corresponding pressure chamber, so as to change a pressure of the corresponding pressure chamber. Also disposed is an ink jet print head using the actuator as described above.

    • Provided is a blood collection tube storage box which performs an operation of preparing a blood collection tube in advance in a blood collection step as a pre-step of a blood collection test. The blood collection tube storage box includes a transferring belt (2), which is brought into abutment with an outer peripheral side surface of a blood collection tube main body (4A) to transfer the blood collection tube main body (4A), a side surface support plate (11), which is brought into point contact with an outer peripheral side surface of the blood collection tube main body (4A) on an opposite side of the transferring belt (2) to support the blood collection tube main body (4A) so that the side surface support plate (11) is opposed to the transferring belt (2), and an inclined support plate (3), which is brought into point contact with a lower end surface edge portion of a blood collection tube cap (10) on the transferring belt (2) side to support the blood collection tube cap (10) in a suspended manner. The above-mentioned mechanism portions are configured as an easily-detachable module. The form of the module allows the storage box to be simplified and downsized, and work in a case of a failure and work for maintenance to be greatly facilitated.

    • A reading unit supplies card information that has been read from a card to a management unit by way of a read-out unit. The management unit assigns a high order of priority to card information that has been newly read and stores the card information to which this order of priority has been given in a memory unit. A fingerprint scanner supplies input fingerprint information to a selection unit by way of a generation unit. The selection unit, upon receiving the input fingerprint information, supplies this input fingerprint information to a collation unit and further, selects a plurality of items of registered fingerprint information that are stored in the memory unit starting in order with items having the highest order of priority. The collation unit, upon receiving the input fingerprint information, collates this input fingerprint information with the registered fingerprint information in the order selected by the selection unit, and determines whether registered fingerprint information that matches the input fingerprint information is present within the plurality of items of registered fingerprint information.
