摘要： A method of adapting a mobile telecommunication system to channel conditions. To control transmission of a data packet from an access network (AN) in both a link adaptation scheme and an ARQ (Automatic Repeat reQuest) scheme, an access terminal (AT) compares the received power of a forward pilot signal received from the AN with a predetermined first threshold, checks errors in the data packet of a received time slot if the reception power is greater than the first threshold, and transmits a signal requesting termination of retransmission of the data packet to the AN if no errors are found in the data packet after decoding.

摘要： There is provided an encoding apparatus and method in a CDMA communication system. To encode input information of a k-bit sequence and generate a codeword with length N>(2k−1), an encoder encodes the input information using an (r, k) simplex code and generates a sequence of code symbols of length r (r=2k−1), a repeater repeats the sequence of code symbols t times ( t = ⌊ N r ⌋ + 1 ) , and a puncturer performs puncturing A times (A=rt−N) on the t repeated code symbol sequences so that the resulting codes have length N. The punctured symbols are distributed uniformly across the repeated code symbol sequences or confined to the tth repeated code symbol sequence.

摘要： A forward link device of a multicarrier CDMA communication system with an overlay scheme in which a multicarrier system and an IS-95 system share same frequency bands. In the forward link device, four encoders encode input data of corresponding rates with a 1/3 coding rate, respectively. A first repeater repeats two times full rate symbols output from the first encoder, and second to fourth repeaters repeat symbols output from the second to fourth encoders, respectively, according to a predetermined number of times, to match the number of corresponding output symbols to the number of full rate symbols. First to fourth interleavers interleave the symbols output from the first to fourth repeaters, respectively, to uniformly distribute the symbols of the same data bit to the carriers.

In the TFCI encoding apparatus, a one-bit generator generates a sequence having the same symbols. A basis orthogonal sequence generator generates a plurality of basis orthogonal sequences. A basis mask sequence generator generates a plurality of basis mask sequences. An operation unit receives TFCI bits that are divided into a first information part representing biorthogonal sequence conversion, a second information part representing orthogonal sequence conversion, and a third information part representing mask sequence conversion and combines an orthogonal sequence selected from the basis orthogonal sequence based on the second information, a biorthogonal sequence obtained by combining the selected orthogonal sequence with the same symbols selected based on the first information part, and a mask sequence selected based on the biorthogonal sequence and the third information part, thereby generating a TFCI sequence.

摘要： In a transmission device and method for a CDMA communication system, when a shorter frame message is generated during transmission of a longer frame message, the transmission of the longer frame message is interrupted, whereupon the shorter frame message is immediately transmitted in place of a portion of the longer frame message. In one embodiment, after the longer frame message is interrupted and the shorter frame message is transmitted, only the tail portion of the longer frame message is transmitted thereafter. That is, the replaced portion of the longer frame message is not transmitted following the shorter frame message transmission. In an alternative embodiment, following the shorter frame message transmission, the remainder of the longer frame message, from the point of interruption, is transmitted in its entirety. In the latter case, the longer frame message is delayed by the length of the shorter frame message.

A base station sync code transmission device comprises a primary sync code transmitter and a secondary sync code transmitter. The primary sync code transmitter is for generating and then transmitting a primary sync code at a first location in a transmission frame. The primary sync code is for acquiring synchronization at a starting point of a frame and the frame is equal to one period of a spreading code. The secondary sync codes are assigned to base station groups, one to a group. A mobile station sync code receiving device comprises a primary sync code acquisition decider and a base station group decider. The base station group decider is enabled upon acquisition of the primary sync code, receives a secondary sync code transmitted at a second location in the frame, and then determines the base station group to which the transmitting base station belongs.
