摘要： In the disclosed method of manufacturing an implantable wireless sensor, a cavity is etched in one side of a first substrate. A conductive structure are formed on the base of the cavity. A second conductive structureare formed on a surface of a second substrate, and the two substrates are mutually imposed such that the two conductive plates and coils are disposed in opposed, spaced-apart relation. A laser is then used to cut away perimeter portions of the imposed substrates and simultaneously to heat bond the two substrates together such that the cavity in the first substrate is hermetically sealed.

摘要： This publication discloses a method for creating nanoscale formations. According to the method, a filler matrix and first nanoparticles embedded in the filler matrix, and two conductive electrodes are superimposed on the insulating material layer. According to the invention, a voltage is applied between the conductive electrodes, a filler matrix is used and first nanoparticles have substantially different electrical properties in order to induce self-organized localized contact creation when said voltage is applied. Potential applications of the invention include e.g. parallel-plate capacitor structures based on metal-oxide nanoparticles, such as memory cells, and high-permittivity/tunable capacitors.

摘要： Expandable polymer compositions are used to reinforce or provide various types of insulation to cavities in structural elements. The polymer compositions include at least two different segments, which may or may not be joined. At least one of the segments will expand before another segment when heated. The first-to-expand segment forms a physical barrier to the expansion of later-expanding segments, thereby restricting the expansion of the later-expanding segment in at least one direction. In this manner, the location of the expanded polymer within the cavity can be easily and inexpensively controlled.

Maintenance and lubrication can be performed by applying lubrication agents to the cutting mechanism of a paper shredder without requiring disassembly of the paper shredder. The agents can also include scented agents and decomposing agents or a combination thereof. Lubrication sheets are disclosed for applying agents to the cutting mechanism of paper shredders. A holder is disclosed for retaining lubrication sheets within proximity of a paper shredder. Paper shredders are also disclosed having various means for identifying when lubrication is needed and/or when the cutting mechanism of the paper shredder is lubricated by a lubrication sheet. Paper shredders having a reservoir of lubricant for delivery to the cutting mechanism of the paper shredder are also disclosed. Such reservoirs may be removable. Cap designs allowing use of a removable reservoir with the paper shredders are also disclosed.

摘要： The present invention determines the resonant frequency of a sensor by adjusting the phase and frequency of an energizing signal until the frequency of the energizing signal matches the resonant frequency of the sensor. The system energizes the sensor with a low duty cycle, gated burst of RF energy having a predetermined frequency or set of frequencies and a predetermined amplitude. The energizing signal is coupled to the sensor via magnetic coupling and induces a current in the sensor which oscillates at the resonant frequency of the sensor. The system receives the ring down response of the sensor via magnetic coupling and determines the resonant frequency of the sensor, which is used to calculate the measured physical parameter. The system uses a pair of phase locked loops to adjust the phase and the frequency of the energizing signal.
