    • The invention relates to a motor vehicle axle component and a method for producing a motor vehicle axle component. The axle component, for example a dead beam axle, includes a light metal body, such as aluminum or magnesium or corresponding alloys, and a tubular body in form of a steel tube, which are adhesively connected with each other. An adhesive pocket filled with an adhesive is formed between an end of the tubular body and a cylindrical receptacle of the light metal body. Respective bezels are arranged on a free end of the receptacle and on a free end of the tubular body. The spaces between the respective bezels and adjacent walls are filled with adhesive, which seals the interior and exterior transition regions of the joint zone, thus protecting the joint zone against corrosion, improving the load characteristic of the axle component and increasing its service life.

    • A three-dimensional structure for armoring a motor vehicle is made of a steel plate and has a substantial hemispherical shape. The structure is reinforced by bending edges having an X-shaped configuration extending over the entire surface of the structure. Arranged between the legs of the X-shaped portion are sections which have surface areas between the legs of the X-shaped portion. The surface area of the X-shaped portion has a generally concave curvature, whereas the surface areas of the sections 11 have convex configurations in relation to the concave surface area of the X-shaped portion.

    • An electromagnetic actuator operating like a holding magnet includes an anisotropic permanent magnet connected with a ferromagnetic yoke, an electromagnet and a ferromagnetic armature that is movable relative to the electromagnet. The yoke is cup-shaped and has a circular, elliptical or polygonal cross-section to reduce magnetic stray flux. All the aforementioned components are arranged coaxially with respect to a column-shaped core. The periphery of the yoke includes at least one opening configured for passage of the electrical conductors controlling the electromagnet. The opening also enables pressure equalization and vapor diffusion between the interior space of the actuator and the environment. The opening is oriented in the magnetic flux direction and is constructed to reduce eddy currents. The actuator also includes components forming an electrical freewheel circuit or an electrical energy store circuit.

    • A bumper for a motor vehicle has a cross member disposed transversely in relation to side rails of a vehicle frame and is supported on the side rails by crash boxes. The cross member includes a central longitudinal section having opposite ends, a crash box attachment section with a substantially vertical rear wall and two legs, and an end section having in cross-section a U-shaped configuration defined by two legs and a web which interconnects the legs and forms an outward-projecting bulge.
