    • A time measurement system includes a master timepiece and a slave timepiece 3. The master timepiece includes a time signal generating circuit that receives a standard frequency and time signal and generates a time signal being receivable by a motor driving coil 35 of the slave timepiece 3; and a transmitter circuit and a coil that transmit this signal. The slave timepiece 3 includes a time counter 33 that keeps time on the basis of a reference signal; a driving motor with the driving coil 35; a receiver circuit 37 that receives the time signal using the driving coil 35; a control circuit 38 that corrects the time counter 33 on the basis of the received time signal; and a time display unit 36 that displays time. Since the driving coil 35 is used, increases in the number of components and cost are suppressed. The time can be adjusted within a short period of time. Waterproof abilities are improved.

    • In a time correction apparatus, a summer-time information holding unit holds summer-time information which contains an amount of input time as an amount of time correction for a summer time period. A transition time holding unit holds a plurality of summer time transition times of a plurality of years, which are computed beforehand from the summer-time information. A time determining unit compares the present time with each of the plurality of summer time transition times respectively, and determines whether the present time is within the summer time period based on a result of the comparison. A time correction unit corrects the present time for the summer time period by using the amount of input time, in accordance with a determination result by the time determining unit.

    • Under the present invention a real time clock circuit, within a set-top box, is provided with an internal clock generator for generating multiple clock signals. Once generated, a first clock signal is divided into an initial set of values representing time and optionally day/date intervals, and then communicated to a set of clock registers. The initial set of values can then be communicated (directly or via a set of DCR registers) to a display component within the set-top box. Updated clock signals are received by the set of DCR registers from an external source such as a satellite or the like thus making the clock very accurate, and are communicated to the display component. Similar to the initial set of values, the updated set of values could be communicated to the display component directly from the set of DCR registers, or via the set of clock registers.

    • A time signal provides time and/or date information in a succession of time code telegrams that each include successive time frames having at least one data bit each. The time signal is received, decoded and evaluated to acquire the time information, for which only some of the data bits of a respective time code telegram are evaluated. Particularly, only those bits representing necessary time and/or date information are evaluated, while other bits containing other unneeded information are ignored or replaced by filler bits. A radio-controlled clock includes a bit decoder and an evaluating unit for decoding and evaluating only the pertinent bits, a counter that keeps track of the bit location in the telegram, and a controller that controls the decoder and/or evaluating unit to decode and evaluate only some particular ones of the received data bits in the telegram.

    • An indoor GPS clock using GPS signals lower that −143 dBm for issuing disciplined frequency and time standard signals. The indoor GPS clock includes a correlation machine using long integration periods for enabling the indoor GPS clock to operate with low signal levels; a carrier-less tracking loop for tracking the low level signals without carrier offset feedback, a clock bias loop for providing clock bias feedback; and a reference oscillator using the clock bias feedback for providing disciplined frequency and time signals having greater accuracy than is available in conventional GPS positioning receivers. The indoor GPS clock also includes a holdover driver providing compensation for predicted drift in clock bias error for disciplining the reference oscillator for several hours when the GPS signal is no longer being received.
