摘要： A remotely operable, portable cutting apparatus detachably secured to the workpiece by laterally spaced clamp assemblies engageable with the workpiece on opposite sides of the intended line of cut. A reciprocal cutter head is mounted between the clamp assemblies and is provided with a traveling abrasive cutting wire adapted to sever the workpiece normal to the longitudinal axis thereof. Dust and debris are withdrawn from the cutting area by a vacuum force through a nozzle mounted on the cutting head.

摘要： A sleeve grip for a pipe is radially expandable by axial compression from a bolt-nut system. One of the elements 8 of the bolt-nut system 13 is connected to a bidirectional drive motor 23 inducing rotation in the cylindrical pipe 2 and the other element 24 to the movable disc 25 of a brake 14. Thus, by simple tightening or slackening of the brake 14 and activation of the motor 23 inducing rotation in the pipe, it may be held by the expandable sleeve grip 12 or released.

摘要： A severing machine including a feed device for cutting tool arranged to advance continuously to effect cutting of a workpiece, a machine stand with a workpiece supporting table and clamping jaws, and a machine head containing the tool movable relative to the table during cutting. The feed device controls the relative movement of the head in the feed direction and comprises: a ball roller spindle rotatably supported by the stand and provided with outer helical threads, the spindle having a length greater than the maximum feed displacement of the portion of the head in the region of the spindle; two spaced-apart axial bearings carried by the head; a freewheel coupling positioned between the axial bearings and composed of an inner race in threaded engagement with the spindle and having a thread pitch outside of the range of self-locking with the spindle thread, an outer race carried by, and rotatable freely relative to, the inner race, and a coupling mechanism coupling the races together in a manner to permit the outer race to rotate freely relative to the inner race in the direction of rotation of the inner race relative to the spindle during movement of the head in the feed direction, the outer race being driven in that direction of rotation at a rate which is a function of the tool advance; a braked drive motor connected for rotating the spindle; and a unit for adjusting the weight loading by the head on the freewheel coupling.

摘要： Cylindrical water tanks, such as used for water softeners, inherently corrode at the bottom and herein is taught that the tanks are repaired by removing the bottom dish with the use of a novel tool that moves around the tank and bears thereagainst with a substantially uniform force thereby readily following the tank's contour, by sandblasting the interior for cleaning, by installing a new bottom dish to the cylindrical body with the use of a novel tool that automatically stops further penetration of the dish into the tank when a predetermined overall height of the tank is obtained, by welding the bottom dish to the body, by coating the interior with a non-corrosive plastic with the use of a novel spray gun apparatus that radially sprays the liquid plastic onto the inner walls of the tank as the spray nozzle moves axially therein and then the spray nozzle is adjusted to cause the spray to form an upward diverging cone to coat the underside of the top cover, and finally by allowing the plastic to harden.

摘要： An apparatus for cutting off cast parts from a cylindrical runner of a casting body comprises a slidable mount supported on a bed, holding means provided on the slidable mount for supporting and indexing the casting body and a cutting grinder supported up and down movably on the bed. During a forward movement of the slidable mount in the axial direction of the casting body, cast parts arranged in an axial row are cut off successively. After this cutting, the casting body is indexed to the next cutting position and by a rearward movement of the slidable mount cast parts arranged in the next axial row are cut off. Thus cast parts on the outer periphery of the cylindrical runner of the casting body which usually is manufactured by precision casting may be cut off from the runner in the most simple and efficient way.
