    • The method for welding profiled elements made of a plastic material, in particular PVC, comprises the steps of: preparing two profiled elements (3) made of a plastic material, arranged with respective zones to be welded (4) facing one another; heating the zones to be welded (4); before the heating step, the step of making a groove (19) in correspondence to a peripheral edge of each of the zones to be welded (4); coupling the zones to be welded (4) to one another, by pressing the profiled elements (3) against one another to keep the zones to be welded (4) in reciprocal contact, the step of coupling the zones to be welded (4) defining a sub-step of melting the zones to be welded (4) into one another to define a welding bead and comprising the sub-steps of: arranging pressing means (27, 28) in correspondence to the grooves (19) to define, in collaboration with the grooves (19), a containing compartment (19a) of the welding bead, the pressing means (27, 28) comprising: a first work surface (62) having a protruding portion (63); and a second work surface (64) of final finishing; and displacing the pressing means (27, 28) alternately between: an idle position moved away from the profiled elements (3); a first work position wherein the first work surface (62) is abutted on the grooves (19) with the protruding portion (63) located inside the containing compartment (19a) to deviate the welding bead towards the side walls (61) of the containing compartment (19a); and a second work position wherein the second work surface (64) is abutted on the grooves (19) so as to obtain a finished welding bead.

    • A new machine for and method of manufacturing fluted pin fasteners and the pins produced thereby are disclosed which utilize a circular grinding arrangement of a plurality of grinders which grind flutes into a threaded pin. An internally threaded collar threads onto the pin. When the collar engages a surface of a work piece, resistance to further threading increases. When sufficient resistance to threading occurs, the driver deforms the lobes of the collar radially inward toward the axis of the collar. Material of the collar positioned internally from the lobes responds to deformation of the lobes and flows radially inward into the flutes of the pin to lock the collar, pin, and work piece together. The driver then rotates freely, and a joint has been made with a predetermined axial load thereby locking the component parts together. The apparatus grinding the flutes into the pins comprises a vibratory feed bowl loading threaded pins into a four station rotary drum assembly rotationally driven by a drive mechanism through a plurality of stations. There is a feed station to receive pins into drum assembly, a grind station to grind the pins, and an eject station to eject the ground pins. The circular arrangement of grinders is mounted on a table which is translated up and down by an air spring against a cam wheel to grind the pins located at the grinding station.

    • The present invention relates to a cardboard notching machine which mainly consists of a body, a transmission group, a roller group, an adjustment group, and a forming group. The roller group is driven by the transmission group so as to feed in cardboards for notching and the forming group has forming cutters for notching cardboards, allowing the notching of cardboard to be performed and completed in one step on the notching machine according to the present invention. Due to the adjustment of gaps between the rollers of the roller group by means of the adjustment group, the forming cutters form notches in a vibrating manner which gives the notches more accurate depth and more smooth surfaces.

    • A tool for cutting a keyslot in a workpiece bore for use with a numerically-controlled (N.C.) machine of the type having a plurality of tools for performing a number of machining operations on a workpiece. The tool includes a spindle which is insertable in the driving mechanism of the N.C. machine and a shaft fixed to the spindle for driving a cutter wheel responsive to spindle rotation. The spindle is received in a housing which is automatically locked against rotation relative thereto when the tool is not in the driving mechanism of the N.C. machine. An adjustable ring permits changing the cutting plane of the cutter wheel to vary the angle at which the keyslot is cut in the workpiece bore.
