    • An electronic device may be provided with an ejectable component assembly having a connector that can receive and retain a removable module within a housing of the electronic device. The ejectable component assembly may also be provided with an ejector mechanism for at least partially ejecting the removable module from the connector. The ejector mechanism may receive a user input force at an ejector user interface, translate that user input force into an ejection force, and apply that ejection force onto the removable module for ejecting the module. The ejector user interface may be provided at any suitable position of the housing that may not interfere with other functions of the device. The path along which the ejector mechanism translates the user input force into the ejection force between the ejector user interface and the removable module may be provided in any suitable way throughout the device.

    • An electrical card connector (100), used for receiving a card (6) having a cutout (61), includes an insulative housing (1), a plurality of contacts (2) retained in the insulative housing, a metal shield (3) covering the insulative housing to define a card receiving room (8) and a card inserting port, and an ejector (4) assembled on the insulative housing. The metal shield includes a main plate (31) and a pair of vertical walls (32) extending from the main plate. A ridge (321) is formed at one of the vertical walls. The ejector includes a slider (41), a spring member (42) and a pin member (43) for cooperatively guiding/ejecting a card. The slider has a main portion (41) extending along the card's insertion/ejection direction. The main portion forms a protruding portion (412) facing toward the card receiving room and a confronting portion (413) facing toward the one vertical wall. The protruding portion is engaged with the cutout of the card when the card is moved into a locked position in such a manner that the ridge leans against the confronting portion and presses the slider towards the card receiving room.

    • A connector has an ejection mechanism operable to eject a card having a notch along a length direction, at least one contact, a housing for holding the at least one contact, and a cover for covering the housing. The ejection mechanism includes a movable unit that is movable between a holding position, at which the movable unit is located when the card has been inserted in the connector, and an ejecting position, at which the movable unit is located when the card has been ejected from the connector, along the length direction during insertion and ejection of the card. The movable unit includes a lock portion movable along a width direction perpendicular to the length direction as well as along the length direction when the movable unit moves along the length direction. The lock portion is located within the notch of the card to prevent ejection of the card when the movable unit is located at the holding position. The cover and the housing define a cavity that can receive at least part of the card and an opening for allowing the card to be inserted into the cavity. The connector also has a width-direction movement regulator configured to prevent the lock portion from moving in the width direction when the movable unit is located at the holding position.

    • A card slot according to the present invention is provided with a slot body, a heat sink, a first support and a second support. The slot body is configured to internally store an IC card. The heat sink is provided with a heat sink body and a first spring. The first spring is attached to the substantial center of an upper surface of the heat sink body, and supports the heat sink body. Also, the first spring is lowered with insertion of the IC card inside the slot, and presses the heat sink body downward. The first support is provided with two first leg sections, a first linking section and a first pressing spring. The two first leg sections are arranged facing positions sandwiching the heat sink body close to one end side of the slot body. The first linking section links fellow upper end vicinities of the two first leg sections. The first pressing spring extends from either the first leg sections or the first linking section towards an upper surface of the heat sink body, to press the upper surface of the heat sink body downwards. The second support is provided with two second leg sections, a second linking section and a second pressing spring. The two second leg sections are arranged facing positions sandwiching the heat sink body close to another end side of the slot body. The second linking section links fellow upper end vicinities of the two second leg sections. The second pressing spring extends from either the second leg sections or the second linking section towards an upper surface of the heat sink body, to press the upper surface of the heat sink body downwards.
