摘要： A distortion cancellation amplifier is described having a main amplifier and an error amplifier. The main amplifier, in response to an input signal, generates an output signal having an amplified signal component and a distortion signal component. The error amplifier is sized and biased to generate, in response to the same input signal, a distortion signal component that has substantially the same magnitude as the distortion signal component of the main amplifier. The distortion signal component from the error amplifier is subtracted from the output signal of the main amplifier.

摘要： A first differential pair and a second differential pair each receive differential input signals. The first differential pair and the second differential pair are connected such that the second differential pair receives part of a tail current of the first differential pair, and such that output signals of the first differential pair and output signals of the second differential pair cancel each other. A constant current source supplies the tail current to the first differential pair. A transistor which functions as a variable current source is connected between a current path and the second differential pair, and supplies a current drawn from the current path to the second differential pair, the current path connecting the first differential pair and the constant current source.

The amplifiers include one or more amplification stages connected to form a symmetric structure. The amplification stage includes a boosting amplifier, a MOS transistor and a compensation capacitor. The MOS transistor can be an NMOS transistor and a PMOS transistor. Using this scheme pole-zero doublets are rearranged in a manner to improve the transient settling response.

The LNA can include a Gm doubler 410, a source follower 420, and a coupling circuit (430/440) that couples a differential input to the Gm doubler with the source follower for achieving high linearity over a wide frequency range at a low supply voltage. The coupling circuit can capacitively couple (434/444) a differential input to a gate of the source follower. The gate can be biased to a supply voltage through variable resistors (436/446). A cross coupler (480) can be included in a push-pull buffer (450) for additional gain and for allowing the source follower to drive a low impedance load at low power.

摘要： A CMOS transconductor for cancelling third-order intermodulation is provided. The transconductor includes a transconductance circuit and a tuneable distortion circuit. The transconductance circuit takes an input voltage and generates an output current having a transconductance element and an IM3 element. The distortion circuit takes the same input voltage and generates a current having an IM3 element of equal amplitude and opposite phase to the IM3 element of the transconductance circuit. A controller circuit tunes the distortion circuit to adjust its IM3 element to substantially equal the amplitude of the IM3 of the transconductance circuit. The distortion and transconductance circuits are arranged to sum their output currents thereby effectively cancelling the IM3 elements, leaving the transconductance relatively unmodified.

摘要： A circuit and a method for nullifying temperature dependence of a circuit characteristic. The circuit includes a plurality of transistors configured such that they generate a gate voltage that includes a threshold voltage as a component. The gate voltage is applied to a transistor to generate a current that is proportional to a process transconductance parameter. The current is applied to a comparator having a differential pair of transistors, wherein each transistor has a process transconductance parameter. The circuit takes the ratios of the process transconductance parameter associated with the current to that of each transistor of the differential pair. By ratioing the process transconductance parameters, temperature dependence is nullified or negated. The ratios can be used to set the hysteresis voltage of the comparator.
