    • A spool valve includes a valve housing and a spool. The valve housing includes a spool hole, a first oil passage, and a second oil passage. The first oil passage has a first port, a second port and a third port that are open to the spool hole. The second oil passage has a fourth port, a fifth port and a sixth port that are open to the spool hole. The spool includes a first oil groove, a second oil groove, a third oil groove, a fourth oil groove, a first communication passage, and a second communication passage. The spool is slidable in the spool hole to switch communication of the third oil groove with the second port and the third port and to switch communication of the fourth oil groove with the fifth port and the sixth port.

    • A piston is inserted into a piston passage of a cylinder. The piston is displaced between a first position of a non-contact state and a second position by a pressing operation. At the first position, a suction source connection port of the cylinder faces a circumferential groove of the piston and a suction source conduit communicates with an outside atmosphere. At the second position, the suction source connection port faces an outer peripheral surface opening and the suction source conduit communicates with a suction connection port. A V-shaped opening portion as a correction opening portion is formed in the outer peripheral surface opening. The V-shaped opening portion causes an increment of a communication opening width at which the suction source connection port overlaps with the outer peripheral surface opening to be three times or less an increment of a pressing stroke of the piston.

    • A spool valve for controlling fluid communication among hydraulic cylinders operating control and slave portions of a surgical device. The spool valve may be used to disconnect the control and the slave portions from one another such that there is no fluid communication between the control and slave portions. The spool valve may be used to engage or allow fluid communication between the control and slave. The spool valve may also be used to allow fluid communication between the slave and control portion and a fluid reservoir, thus allowing the hydraulic system to replenish fluid lost to evaporation, leakage, or other escape. The spool valve includes a body portion having at least two ports and a spool having at least one passageway moveable to a position so as to communicate with the at least two ports.
