摘要： A fiber treating agent which is a silicone modified polyester in which a polyester has a polyoganosiloxane grafted thereto. The grafted polyester is the reaction product of an allyl ether containing polyester and a polyorganosiloxane wherein at least one of the silicon atoms of the polyorganosiloxane has a hydrogen atom attached thereto. Preferably, the hydrogen atom is attached to one terminal end of the polyorganosiloxane. The reaction product is modified by reacting the reaction product with a polycarboxylic anhydride, and the amine salt of the modified reaction product may be formed by reacting the modified reaction product with an aminoalkylalkoxysilane. Methods of treating fibrous materials are also described.

摘要： This invention is a method to improve retention of a finish on nylon yarn, said finish containing the reaction product of epichlorohydrin with the reaction product of pyromellitic dianhydride with a long chain fluoroalcohol, comprising polymerizing said nylon in the presence of about 0.5 to 1 mole percent of a primary-tertiary diamine of the structure ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is an alpha, omega-alkylene group of 2 to 10 carbon atoms where cycloaliphatic, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are alkyl radicals of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sub.4 is an alkylene radical of 1 to 10 carbon atoms and R.sub.5 is R.sub.4 or arylalkyl, R.sub.6 is H or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbons, so that said nylon polymer is melt stable. Also, for batch processing, polyethyleneimines of 300 to 1200 molecular weight, methylaminobispropylamine, N-(2-aminoethyl)-1,3-propanediamine, and 3,3'-iminobispropylamine are useful.

摘要： A multifilament yarn of an aromatic polyamide, in particular poly-p-phenylene terephthalamide, having a tenacity of at least 15 cN/dtex and an initial modulus of at least 400 cN/dtex is provided with a water-soluble size, the filaments of the yarn having a cohesion corresponding to a Manra number not higher than 40. The yarn is made by subjecting a non-sized yarn having a moisture content which is lower than its equilibrium moisture content, while under a tension of at most 0.25 cN/dtex, to a continuous wetting treatment with an aqueous solution of a size and subsequently winding the treated yarn into a yarn package. The yarn package contains a single continuous length of the sized yarn. The sized yarn is suitable as warp and weft yarn in the weaving industry.
