摘要： A surface-active composition is described which comprises (a) from 0.01 to 90% by weight of a mixture of a microbicidal active ingredient of (a1) a diphenyl ether compound and (a2) a phenol derivative, (b) from 0 to 50% by weight of one or more hydrotropic agents, (c) from 0 to 80% by weight of one or more synthetic detergents or of a soap or of combinations of the mentioned substances and/or of a salt of a saturated and/or unsaturated C8-C22 fatty acid, (d) from 0 to 50% by weight of an alcohol, (e) from 0 to 50% by weight of typical ingredients for cleaning and disinfectant compositions and optionally (f) tap water or deionised water ad 100%. The compositions are used for the antimicrobial treatment of human skin and hair, of hard surfaces and of textile fibre materials.

摘要： A method to improve the bleach resistance of a textile fiber is provided by having the steps of:(a) applying a solution or dispersion of a compound of the formula: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently selected from the group consisting of H, CO.sub.2 R.sub.4, SO.sub.3 H, PO.sub.3 H, CON(R.sup.4).sub.2, OH, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, and halo, where R.sup.4 is H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;R.sup.3 is selected from the group consisting of H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkenyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylenephenyl, phenyl and COR.sup.5, where R.sup.5 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, phenyl or benzyl, any of which may be substituted with up to two groups from R.sub.2 ; and salts of such compounds; in a solvent selected from the group consisting of water and C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alcohol; and(b) drying said textile fiber to evaporate said solvent and deposit a non-volatile coating of said phenolic compound on a surface of said fiber.

摘要： A non-woven fabric treated with a biocidal composition including at least one halogenated phenolic biocide; a water soluble, film forming polymer which is a polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer or copolymer; and at least one surfactant, wherein a complex is formed between the halogenated phenolic biocide and the polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer or copolymer so that, after treatment of the non-woven fabric therewith and drying, no cloudy residue remains on the non-woven fabric. A method of impregnating a fabric to prevent rot includes contacting a non-woven fabric with a liquid biocidal composition containing at least one halogenated phenolic biocide, a water soluble, film forming polymer, which is a polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer or copolymer; and at least one surfactant, wherein a complex is formed between the halogenated phenolic biocide and the polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer or copolymer so that, after contacting the non-woven fabric with the liquid biocidal composition and drying, no cloudy residue remains on the non-woven fabric.

摘要： The present invention relates to cosmetic applicators comprised of a sheet of porous or absorbent material which is impregnated with an oil-in-water emulsion composition. The oil-in-water emulsion compositions comprises an oil phase comprising from about 0.1% to about 5% by weight of the emulsion composition of an oil-soluble moisturizing agent, dispersed in an aqueous phase. The oil-soluble moisturizer has a mean particle size ranging from about 0.05 to about 7 microns. The oil-in-water emulsion comprises from about 0.1% to about 5% by weight of the emulsion of a surfactant and from about 0.05% to about 5% by weight of the emulsion of particulates. The viscosity of the oil-in-water emulsion composition ranges from about 1 to about 500 centipoise.
