    • This building panel consists of lightweight panel for external or internal closures of latticework support structures, which is constituted by slabs of air-setting resistant material. The slabs are reinforced in the facade panels for external closures and unreinforced for the dividing panels for internal closures. They are provided with a patterned surface on the visible face and are smooth or shaped at the edges. The visible face is formed by a thin layer of molded synthetic resin or fine mortar paste. When the layer is molded synthetic resin and is disposed as a shell for the panel, it comprises over the whole of the inner surface thereof an internal synthetic resin layer, the entire free surface of which is covered with a solid bulk material, the components of which firmly partially anchored in said internal layer and afford a substantial free surface for anchorage of the air-setting material forming the resistant body poured thereover. This material fills the entire volume of said panel shell, at the same time as it includes therein reinforcement means provided with points directly accessible from the outside of the concealed face of the panel.

    • A method and apparatus is provided for applying a plaster-like coating material to the decorative exposed surface of a preform workpiece. The apparatus comprises; means for mechanically advancing a workpiece along the apparatus along a straight horizontal axis over a non-continuous surface; means for engaging the bottom portion of a workpiece to constrain lateral and vertical movement as the workpiece passes along the apparatus; and means for applying a desired thickness of plaster-like coating material to a decorative surface of an advancing workpiece. Both the method and apparatus provide on a consistent basis, a smooth coating with a controlled thickness tightly bonded to the entire exposed decorative surface of a workpiece. The method and apparatus provide a simple, efficient, cost effective and reliable means for applying a plaster-like coating to the exposed decorative surface of a workpiece for use on a commercial scale in the construction industry.

    • A concrete wall panel for tilt-up construction provides polymeric peripheral elements defining panel and orifice edges and medial fastening strips extending in the panel between the peripheral elements, all of which remain as part of the finished panel to accept traditional self-penetrating nail, screw and staple fasteners historically used in wood construction. The peripheral elements are of solid configuration to provide a form for pouring plastic concrete that forms the panel embodying them. The fastening strips extend through the panel between opposed panel surfaces and are formed by two initially releasably interconnected elements defining voids therebetween to allow thickness adjustment and convenient placement and support of structural components within the panel. The fastening strips define spaced areas to receive traditional wood fasteners and may carry index strips on opposed exposed surfaces to visually indicate strip location and fastening areas. The peripheral elements allow joinder of adjacent panels with each other and both the peripheral elements and the fastening strips allow joinder of structural elements on one or both panel surfaces by self-penetrating fasteners of wood construction.
