    • A non-contact-type access authorization reading device on an access control apparatus (1) reads an access authorization stored in a data carrier (9) received by an object (ski 7) which the user carries near the ground. The reading device has an antenna (11) disposed in the ground area and is connected to an evaluation unit which releases the access (2) upon reading of a valid access authorization. To provide the data carrier (9) with an access authorization, a copy-over data carrier (12) is acquired which stores a coding authorization for an access authorization. A copy-over reading device reads the coding authorization on the copy-over data carrier (12), and a coding device contactlessly codes the access authorization on the access authorization data carrier (9), the coding authorization being deleted after coding.

    • The present invention is directed at securing a sportsboard apparatus from theft and discloses a simple, multiple element apparatus which engages elements of a standard sportsboard and further provides for a method by which the sportsboard may be secured to a stationary article avoiding theft. The apparatus operates simply with few moving parts and fits standard sportsboard designs. A cross bar is intimate to the sportsboard's body and located within a cylindrical cup which is recessed below the sportsboard's outer surface, the cross bar being securely fixed to the board's core structure. The apparatus incorporates a hooked element which surrounds the crossbar and a pin element which encloses the cross bar within a space formed between pin and hook element's engagement end. While the hook and pin elements enclose the cross bar below the sportsboard's outer surface, the apparatus's elements positioned above the sportsboard's outer surface insure firm, secure engagement between apparatus and sportsboard. Importantly, the apparatus elements above the outer surface of the sportsboard are free to rotate or spin independent of the hook element and about the pin element's axis without affecting the engagement between apparatus and sportsboard. The apparatus engaged sportsboard may be secured to a stationary article to prevent the sportsboard's unauthorized movement utilizing padlock and security cable elements.

    • A combination snowboard tether, security lock, and carrying strap featuring a metal cable permanently or removably attached to a snowboard. The device may be permanently or removably secured to a snow board. The cable during use as a tether is maintained in a relatively upright position out of the snow and away from rocks and branches using positioning locators mounted on the cable in a fashion to limit the rotation of the cable when inserted into cooperating receiving cavities or notches for the positioning locators located in an eye bolt attached to the snowboard. The device has a lock mounted upon the ends of the cable to allow for the cable to be secured around a stationary object during periods when the board is not being used. The cable may also be used as a carrying strap by positioning it over the shoulder.

    • A system for protecting skis from theft which includes a digital transmitter, a timer, and a motion sensor all attached to the ski binding itself, and a hand held digital receiver. The system is fully enabled when the user removes the ski boot from the binding and manually turns on the receiver. Subsequent movement of the skis, for a length of time predetermined by the timer, allows the transmitter to send a unique digital code by standard radio frequency. The digital code is detected by only one receiver which in turn produces an audible alarm to alert the person carrying the receiver.

    • A locking apparatus intended to lock two objects, for example skis, to each other comprises two locking members, one of which has a transverse, dovetail-shaped projection and the other of which has a correspondingly shaped transverse groove.
