    • Provided is a multi-layer restoration method using a LCAS (Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme) in a synchronous network having a mesh structure. The method includes: performing a hardware restoration method if a network failure is detected; performing a pre-planned restoration method if the network failure is not repaired by performing the hardware restoration method; determining whether channels that pass along a line where the network failure occurs use the LCAS if the network failure is not repaired by performing the pre-planned restoration method; and applying the LCAS to the channels if the channels are determined to use the LCAS, and performing a dynamic restoration method if the channels are not determined to use the LCAS. The multiplayer restoration method minimizes data loss due to an increase in restoration time and overcomes service disconnection caused by failure to obtain a spare channel.

For the fine tuning, laser trimming can be applied to the stub. A transition region is formed between the optical device and the microstrip line. A termination resistor is formed to face the microstrip line with the optical device therebetween. A bandwidth can be controlled at a specific frequency by adjusting a number of the stubs or a value of the termination resistor.

    • Provided is a method of fabricating a heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT). The method includes: sequentially depositing a sub-collector layer, a collector layer, a base layer, an emitter layer, and an emitter capping layer on a substrate; forming an emitter electrode on the emitter capping layer; forming a mesa type emitter to expose the base layer by sequentially etching the emitter capping layer and the emitter layer using the emitter electrode as an etch mask in vertical and negative-sloped directions to the substrate, respectively; and forming a base electrode on the exposed base layer using the emitter electrode as a mask in self-alignment with the emitter electrode. In this method, a distance between the mesa type emitter and the base electrode can be minimized and reproducibly controlled. Also, a self-aligned device with an excellent high-frequency characteristic can be embodied.

    • The present invention relates to a drum type washing machine defined within a housing including a water tub to hold water, a rotating tub rotatably installed in the water tub, and a drying apparatus for drying laundry. The drying apparatus includes a blowing fan, a heater to heat air that flows via the blowing fan, and upper and lower cases coupled to each other such that the blowing fan and the heater are installed therebetween defining an inner fluid pathway. The upper case includes a first cover to allow the blowing fan to be exposed to the outside of the housing and a second cover to allow the heater to be exposed to the outside of the housing. As the blowing fan and the heater can be separately exposed to the outside of the housing, easy repair of the drying apparatus is possible.
