摘要： Disclosed is a control method and controller for a magnetic powder clutch system including a magnetic powder clutch having an input shaft connected to an engine and an output shaft. In the method, the magnetic powder clutch is energized by an energizing strength which is determined based on a target transmitting torque. The energizing strength is compensated with a predetermined correction factor to realize high accuracy control. Moreover, the correction factor is always updated in response to an error between the target transmitting torque and the detected actual transmitting torque.

The apparatus includes two sensors for detecting an engine speed Ne and a speed Nin of a clutch at an input side of a transmission and a conroller, respectively. The controller stores in advance a transmission coefficient C (referring to a speed ratio Nin/Ne) of the clutch and determines an output torque of the clutch using the transmission coefficient C and the engine speed Ne.In the method, an engine speed Ne and an input shaft speed Nin of a transmission are detected, then a speed ratio Nin/Ne is calculated. On the other hand, a transmission coefficient C is determined from a predetermined relation of the transmission coefficient C and the speed ratio Nin/Ne. Finally, the output torque of the clutch is determined using the transmission coefficient C and the engine speed Ne, for instance, by a formula which is C.multidot.(N.sub.e).sup.2.

摘要： Method and apparatus for controlling an electromagnetic powder clutch connected to a vehicle engine and including a coil for engaging the powder clutch to transmit an output torque of the engine as a function of an electric current to be applied to the coil such that a variation in the engine torque is absorbed by a slip of the powder clutch. An optimum amount of slip of the powder clutch is determined based on a currently required engine output and a detected output speed of the clutch. A basic control value for controlling a magnitude of the electric current to be applied to the coil is determined based on the detected engine torque, such that the determined magnitude of the electric current permits engagement of the clutch so as to transmit the detected engine output torque. The basic control value is compensated for the determined optimum amount of slip of the clutch, thereby adjusting the transmission torque of the clutch so as to absorb the variation in the output torque of the engine.

摘要： A method and an apparatus of controlling an electromagnetic clutch incorporated in a power transmission system of a vehicle to transmit an output of an engine to the drive wheels of the vehicle is disclosed. An amount of electric current applied to the clutch is regulated to control an engaging action of said electromagnetic clutch, based on either a variation in rotating speed or torque of an output shaft of the electromagnetic clutch, or based on the frequency or number of variations per unit time in rotating speed or torque of the output shaft, as compared with the frequency or number of ignitions or combustions per unit time of the engine. In this way a variation in output torque of the engine is absorbed by the electromagnetic clutch for improved drivability, while a transmission power loss in the clutch is kept to a minimum for maximum fuel economy.

摘要： A process for producing a chemically crosslinked polyethylene foam, which comprises heating a polyethylene composition consisting essentially of 97 to 50 % by weight of polyethylene, 3 to 50 % by weight of polybutadiene having a 1,2-addition unit content of at least 70 %, an intrinsic viscosity [.eta.] of at least 0.7 dl/g (as measured in toluene at 30.degree. C), at least one blowing agent and at least one crosslinking agent to foam and crosslink said polyethylene composition. The above process can be carried out with a smaller amount of crosslinking agents without expensive crosslinking equipment, and the foam obtained by this process has improved physical properties.
