    • An apparatus for protecting a vacuum interrupter type on-line tap changer in which a cross current flows between taps through a current limiting resistor for a predetermined time by shorting selected taps therebetween at the time of tap changing operations. Vacuum interrupters are employed as current switching elements. A dial switch selects the position of the tap of the tap changer. A limit switch closes only at a predetermined position of the dial switch during tap changing operations. Thus, a cross current between the taps or a load current flowing for a long time due to a drop in the degree of vacuum of the vacuum interrupters is detected, thereby preventing burn-out of the current limiting resistor and damage to contacts of a disconnecting switch due to interruption of the current.

    • A method for the selective separation of at least one water-soluble useful material from an aqueous solution by reverse osmosis is provided. The method comprises contacting the aqueous solution under pressure maintained above the osmotic pressure of the aqueous solution with a semipermeable composite membrane. The semipermeable composite membrane comprises a microporous substrate and a barrier layer having about 0.01 to about 0.1 micron thickness and composed of a cross-linked polymeric material having isocyanurate structures of Formula (I) formed on the microporous substrate: ##STR1## wherein each of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a glycidyl group, and an alkyl radical containing from 2 to 5 carbon atoms, an alkyl radical carrying a functional hydroxyl group and an alkyl radical carrying a functional glycidyl group, with the proviso that at least two of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are glycidyl groups, alkyl radicals carrying functional hydroxyl groups, alkyl radicals carrying glycidyl groups or a combination thereof. The cross-linked polymeric material has ether linkages, ester linkages or a combination thereof connecting the isocyanurate structures to each other.

    • An application execution unit executes an application, and a communication ID acquisition unit acquires a communication identifier set for the application. When a packet generation unit generates a packet including a communication identifier and data, a transmission unit transmits the packet in an IBSS identified by an SSID stored in a SSID storing unit. When a reception unit receives a packet from another terminal device, a determination unit determines whether the communication identifier acquired by the communication ID acquisition unit matches a communication identifier included in the received packet. When the determination unit determines that the acquired communication identifier matches the communication identifier included in the received packet, a data supply unit provides data included in the received packet to the application.
