摘要： On a light-emitting layer, a p cladding layer of AlGaInN doped with Mg is formed at a temperature of 800° C. to 950° C. Subsequently, on the p cladding layer, a capping layer of undoped GaN having a thickness of 5 Å to 100 Å is formed at the same temperature as employed for a p cladding layer. Next, the temperature is increased to the growth temperature contact layer in the subsequent process. Since the capping layer is formed, and the surface of the p cladding layer is not exposed during heating, excessive doping of Mg or mixture of impurities into the p cladding layer is suppressed. The deterioration of characteristics of the p cladding layer is prevented. Then, on the capping layer, a p contact layer is formed at a temperature of 950° C. to 1100° C.

The laser is driven with drive values corresponding to the control powers selected from the first definition group in the selected level of the second definition group, and emission power detection values are detected. The detection values are stored for respective levels of the second definition groups, and an occurrence of obtaining the detection value is counted for each level of the second definition groups. When any of counter values exceeds a predetermined value, using the detection values stored for one level of the second definition groups corresponding to the counter value, corrected drive values are determined collectively for all the levels of the second definition groups.

A bar-shaped seal member having enlarged end portions formed at opposite ends thereof is mounted in the groove such that the enlarged end portions are filled in the enlarged recesses. Thus, it is possible to ensure accuracy of the positioning of the bar-shaped seal member without the need for a high level skill; thereby, reliably sealing portions of intersection between the joint surfaces of the cylinder block and the crankcase and the joint surfaces of the case halves of the crankcase.
