    • The invention is based on an injection valve which serves in particular to supply fuel to internal combustion engines having fuel injection systems. The injection valve includes a movable valve element, which cooperates with a fixed valve seat provided on a nozzle body.Additionally, the movable valve element and the fixed valve seat each have complementary formed confronting surfaces, at least one of these surfaces being provided with a support such as a rib, thereby maintaining these surfaces in space relation. The rib may be provided on either the movable valve element or the fixed valve seat and can comprise an annular configuration whereby a collection chamber is provided between the respective surfaces. The confronting surfaces may be either concave or convex.

    • An apparatus is proposed which serves to regulate the idling rpm of an internal combustion engine. To this end, a bypass valve is provided, which is disposed in a bypass around a throttle valve in the intake tube of the engine. A movable wall of the bypass valve separates a control chamber from a bypass chamber. The intake tube pressure downstream of the throttle valve in the bypass chamber prevails. The control chamber communicates via a control throttle restriction with atmospheric pressure and also, via an electromagnetically actuatable control valve which operates in accordance with operating characteristics of the engine, as well as with the intake tube pressure downstream of the throttle valve. The regulation of the idling rpm is thus effected by means of a proportional component effected by the bypass valve and an integral component effected by the pressure distribution between the control throttle restriction and the control valve. A pilot valve or magnetic pilot valve, by effecting a brief opening of the bypass valve, serves to prevent the loaded engine from stalling in the event of an abrupt closure of the throttle valve.

    • An apparatus is proposed which serves to regulate the idling rpm of an internal combustion engine. The apparatus includes a bypass line bypassing an arbitrarily actuatable throttle valve in the intake tube. An electromagnetically actuatable bypass valve is disposed in the bypass line for the purpose of controlling supplementary air and is triggerable in accordance with operating characteristics of the engine. In addition, a pressure-sensing adjusting element is also provided, which responds to an abrupt reduction in the intake tube pressure downstream of the throttle device. In accordance with the magnitude of the pressure reduction, this pressure-sensing adjusting element effects a time-limited increase in the supplementary air quantity to the intake tube section downstream of the throttle valve. In the event of an abrupt reduction in the intake tube pressure downstream of the throttle valve, caused by the closure of the throttle valve subsequent to a previous, slight increase in pressure on the gas pedal, the apparatus according to the invention prevents the engine from stopping.

    • A fuel delivery apparatus is proposed for mixture-compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engines, which serves to meter a fuel quantity adapted to the quantity of air induced and to regulate the fuel-air mixture in accordance with operational characteristics of the internal combustion engine. The fuel delivery apparatus comprises a fuel metering system actuated by an air measuring element arranged in the air induction line of the internal combustion engine, while the air measuring element has a control body which controls the size of the air induction tube cross-sectional area, a radial vane which is pivotably fixed in a work chamber, and a damping vane fixed in a damping chamber. The radial vane separates the work chamber into partial chambers and is impacted upon by the pressure upstream and downstream of the control body in such a manner that a force engages the radial vane which is capable of moving the control body in the direction of an enlargement of the controlled induction tube cross-sectional area and which acts counter to a return force. The damping vane separates the damping chamber into a pressure chamber and a throttle chamber; the pressure chamber is connected with atmospheric pressure or with the pressure upstream of the control body, and the throttle chamber, into which the damping vane moves during an opening movement of the control body, is connected with the pressure chamber via a throttle point. The throttle chamber and/or the pressure chamber of the damping chamber are capable of being connected with the induction tube section downstream of the control body by means of contro valves in accordance with operational characteristics of the internal combustion engine, for the purpose of influencing the fuel-air mixture furnished to the internal combustion engine.

    • A fuel injection apparatus is proposed for mixture-compressing, externally ignited internal combustion engines which provides continuous injection into the intake manifold. An air flow rate member and an arbitrarily actuatable throttle valve are disposed in sequence within the intake manifold, the air flow rate member being moved against a return force in accordance with the quantity of air flowing therethrough and thereby adjusts the movable member of a metering and distribution valve assembly disposed within the fuel supply line for the purpose of apportioning a quantity of fuel which is proportional to the air quantity. The control slide of the metering valve is actuated by means of a spring which moves in a direction to open the metering valve when the engine is being turned off. Branching off from each fuel injection line there is a scavenging line which is controllable by means of a filling valve provided with a movable valve member which opens a connection from the scavenging line to the fuel tank via a throttle point when the engine is turned off. When the engine is started, the movable valve member is displaced, with a delay, against a return force in the closing direction of the filling valve by means of the pressure of the fuel being supplied, so that the connection of the scavenging lines to the fuel tank is interrupted. Thus when the engine is started, all the fuel lines in the apparatus quickly fill with fuel, and smooth starting of the internal combustion engine takes place.
