    • A particulate dispensing device includes a housing having a wall at least partially forming a housing cavity. A dispersive element and a particulate filter are each supported in the housing cavity in spaced relation to one another forming a fluidizing chamber. A dispensing tube extends from the fluidizing chamber for dispensing fluidized particulates or aerosol from the device. The particulate dispensing device generates the fluidized particulates or aerosol from a particulate bed within the fluidizing chamber, and dispense the particulates through the dispensing tube to a downstream delivery site. One or more dispensing devices can be used in a system to deliver the fluidized particulate matter to the delivery site. In one system a delivery line from an associated dispensing device directly delivers particulate matter to the delivery site. In another system, each delivery line of one or more dispensing devices delivers particulate matter to an associated delivery member that includes a longitudinally extending channel having an exit orifice. A propellant source is in fluid communication with a propellant port in the channel, and provides propellant flow along the channel. The dispensing lines deliver the fluidized particulate matter or aerosol into the propellant flow. The delivery site is supported adjacent the exit orifice such that the propellant flow and particulate matter therein are delivered to the delivery site.

    • A marking apparatus is disclosed in which a propellant stream is passed through a channel and directed toward a substrate. Marking material, such as ink, toner, etc., is controllably introduced into the propellant stream and imparted with sufficient kinetic energy thereby to be made incident upon a substrate. At sufficient velocity, and with appropriate marking material, the marking material may be kinetically fused to the substrate. A multiplicity of channels for directing the propellant and marking material allow for high throughput, high resolution marking. Multiple marking materials may be introduced into the channel and mixed therein prior to being made incident on the substrate, or mixed or superimposed on the substrate without registration.

    • A process for enabling the separation of a mixture of DNA fragments comprising (1) providing an electrophoresis devive; (2) adding to the device a solution mixture containing DNA fragments of different lengths; (3) energizing the device, thereby creating a sequence of unidirectional uniform electric field pulses therein, said sequence of field pulses alternating between primary positive voltage pulses and secondary pulses of a negative or a positive polarity with less voltage than the primary pulses; (4) calculating the time duration and the field strength required for the primary and secondary field pulses to enable resolution of the fragments into separate and distinct groups corresponding their lengths; and (5) applying in the device the selected primary and secondary fields with intensities and durations corresponding to the size of fragments to be separated. Another embodiment of the invention comprises a computer program that facilitates a DNA gel electrophoresis process.
