    • A method for automatically classifying a printed image, includes scanning the printed image; selecting an n by n block of pixels from the scanned image; calculating an array of DCT coefficients of the pixel block, wherein the array of calculated DCT coefficients are representative of spatial frequency and spatial orientation of the pixel block; comparing the DCT coefficients with an array of predetermined values, wherein the array of predetermined values are indicative of different image marking processes used to produce printed images; and determining an image marking process used to create the printed image based on the comparison of the DCT coefficients with the array of predetermined values. The array of DCT coefficients may be sampled into a feature set and the feature set provided to a neural network to output the determined image marking process.

    • A marking process used to mark an image on a substrate, such as a photographic marking process, a lithographic marking process, an ink-jet marking process, a line-on-line xerographic marking process or a rotated-screen xerographic marking process, is automatically detected using at least one image spatial characteristic obtained from image information picked up from the image. The at least one spatial characteristic, which is unique to the type of marking process, is obtained, for example, by generating an image power spectrum and analyzing the power spectrum according to the existence, position, and/or color of spectral peaks, and/or the existence or absence of abnormally high energy at the high frequencies in the power spectrum.

    • Described is a secure, electronic, submission process providing and enabling applicants to initiate requests to desirous requestors seeking such submissions based on authenticated and trusted identities and/or credentials or which could be authenticated securely through other defined processes. SafeCase is an innovative process for convenience, ease and security in application submissions for anyone and everyone through an electronic interface that has been built innovatively on the strong foundations of Identity Management, giving irrevocable and irrefutable trust on the Identity and/or credentials and/or the purpose that an applicant is applying for or wishes to achieve. SafeCase is an end-to-end secure and transparent interface, wherein the applicant (i.e. the Candidate) utilizes his/her Authenticated Credential(s) or Identity(ies) to submit an application. The applicant remains updated in real time on the status of the submitted application till its final disposal. On the other hand, the Requestor securely receives the said application and gets further updated if and when there is any change to the said submitted identity or credentials thereof.
