摘要： A chromatographic system that includes a light source and an imaging and analysis system for detecting particle size and analyzing other characteristics of particles in the effluent of a filtration column while filtration is ongoing. The effluent is directed into a guiding tube having a flow axis. Coherent light from the light source is shone into the guiding tube along the flow axis, thereby illuminating particles in the effluent within the guiding tube. An imaging device is used to capture images of the portion of the light scattered by the particles. The image signals are analyzed and used to provide information regarding particle size and other characteristics of the particles in the effluent scattering the light.

摘要： An atomic force microscope system is enclosed in a crogenic liquid dewar and operated at about ambient pressure or slightly above ambient pressure. Vaporization of the cryogenic liquid is used for cooling of the atomic force microscope system. Nitrogen, as well as other cryogenic liquids can be used, as for example helium, fluorinated hydrocarbons, isopentane, and liquid propane. Bubbling of the liquid nitrogen, which can produce excessive vibration and prevent atomic resolution for very low temperature experiments, is overcome through the pressurizing of the dewar to several psi.

摘要： Fully connected uplink and downlink fully connected relay network systems using pseudo-noise spreading and despreading sequences subjected to maximizing the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio. The relay network systems comprise one or more transmitting units, relays, and receiving units connected via a communication network. The transmitting units, relays, and receiving units each may include a computer for performing the methods and steps described herein and transceivers for transmitting and/or receiving signals. The computer encodes and/or decodes communication signals via optimum adaptive PN sequences found by employing Cholesky decompositions and singular value decompositions (SVD). The PN sequences employ channel state information (CSI) to more effectively and more securely computing the optimal sequences.
