    • A measuring device for in-process measurement of test pieces during a machining operation on a machine tool, in particular a grinding machine, has a base body, and a measuring head movable between a neutral position and a measuring position and which is connected to the base body via a rod assembly which is configured and set up in such a way that the measuring head in the measuring position follows orbital rotations of a test piece about a rotational axis. The measuring head has a measuring sensor which is deflectable along a linear axis for recording measured values during a measuring operation. A control apparatus is provided for controlling the measuring operation. The control apparatus is configured and set up in such a way that the measuring device may be calibrated in a calibration mode.

    • The apparatus of measuring a workpiece according to the present disclosure includes a base, a measuring member, an upper arm member, a lower arm member, a first pin and a second pin, wherein the upper arm member includes an upper rotation frame and the lower arm member includes a lower rotation frame. When the first pin is moved to disconnect the upper rotation frame from the lower rotation frame, the upper rotation frame is rotatable. When the second pin is moved to lock the lower rotation frame to the measuring member, the lower rotation frame is free of rotation. When the first pin is moved to connect the upper rotation frame and the lower rotation frame with each other and when the second pin is moved to unlock the lower rotation frame from the measuring member, the lower rotation frame is rotatable with the upper rotation frame.

    • Method and device for the determination of a thickness of a cross-section (S) of a tree trunk (30) received in a harvesting assembly (10) comprising a pair of opposite feed wheels (14) engaging with the tree trunk and a delimbing knife (18) abutting against the tree trunk. The mutual position of the feed wheels is detected as a measure of a transverse dimension (D1) of the cross-section of the tree trunk. The position of the delimbing knife (18) in relation to an abutment surface (22) of the tree trunk opposite thereto is detected as a measure of an additional transverse dimension (D2) of the cross-section (S) of the tree trunk, which additional transverse dimension forms an essentially right angle with the first-mentioned transverse dimension. The thickness of the cross-section (S) of the tree trunk is calculated based on the two measures of the transverse dimensions (D1, D2).
