摘要： A method for constructing a cage body of a tapered cage assembled in a rigid-flexible manner includes steps as follows. A cage body of a tapered aquaculture cage is assembled by combining a rigid-structure copper alloy stretched mesh and a flexible synthetic fiber mesh. Pipe rings mounted on the standard component of the synthetic fiber mesh are mated in a staggered manner with plugging rings on the standard component of the copper alloy stretched mesh, and high-performance synthetic fiber rope is rove through the pipe rings and the plugging rings; in this way, the connection is completed. The cage effectively improves the cage resilience under the ocean current condition, avoids mesh sheet deformation or corner breakage, enhances the water exchange capability in and out of the cage body of the gravity cage, and effectively improves the growth environment for the fishes farmed in the cage body.

摘要： A method is disclosed in which cultchless young oysters of a selected size taken from seed stock are placed in a first set of foraminous cribs and the first set of foraminous cribs are then placed on a shelf within an open top receptacle where the young oysters are protectively housed within the receptacle intermediate the top and bottom of the receptacle. Immature oysters of a larger size than the oysters placed in the first set of cribs are placed in a second set of foraminous cribs and the second set of foraminous cribs are placed across the open top of the receptacle above the first set of cribs. The second set of cribs are lashed to the top of the receptacle, whereupon the receptacle with its oyster containing cribs supported thereon are lowered to the bottom of a body of water where it is allowed to remain for a predetermined oyster growth period. The receptacle and trays may be raised periodically for inspection, and for culling from the second set of cribs the mature oysters, and for culling from the first set of cribs immature oysters above a predetermined size which are then placed in the second set of cribs where they are allowed to reach maturity. The apparatus of this invention comprises the receptacle described above in subcombination and in combination with the foraminous cribs.

The containment assembly includes a spiral construction that includes compartments that are in communication with one another, walls that define the compartments, and ramps. Openings disposed in the walls and ramps increase in size from the outer diameter to the inner diameter of the spiral construction so that, with every complete rotation of the containment assembly, every oyster will tumble further into the spiral construction and ascend from its original compartment into the adjacent inner compartment where opening size is larger than in the original compartment such that only oysters which have grown sufficiently can remain in the adjacent inner compartment while oysters that have not grown sufficiently yet will fall through the openings of the adjacent inner compartment into the original compartment.

摘要： A coral reef float utilizes a large, elongated steel and, optimally, balloon shaped structures which can be prefabricated en masse, anchored in place to rest buoyant below the ocean surface, and then used to farm live coral. These large structures using biorock applications have insulated copper cables attached at multiple points every 5-10 feet along the structure for homogenous corrosion resistance and mineral accretion on the surface of the structure. A hollow, balloon shaped structure allows more of this copper wiring to be connected internally, where it can be protected from corrosion. Helical anchors can be used in soft sediments and to handle extreme conditions for tethered floats using easy-to-deploy systems onboard ships. Buoyant artificial reefs will be able to be positioned where other artificial reefs cannot effectively be placed.
