    • The invention relates to a module for measuring purposes comprising an electrical or electronic circuit, which has at least one power supply connection and at least one data line connection for connecting, in the manner of a bus, to at least one other module of the same type that is also used for measuring purposes. The at least one data line connection has a data line contact (86a, 85a) in the first contact surface (90) is connected in an electrically conductive manner to the corresponding power supply contact (84b, 85b) in the second contact surface (91) of the other module (22, 32, 42), and the data line contact (86a, 87a) in the first contact surface (91) of the other module (22, 32, 42).

    • An interface device secures an instrument to a docking station having a casing having at least one signal port and a mounting rail mounted within a recessed portion of the casing. The signal ports may be power or data communications ports. A back panel forms part of an instrument housing for housing the instrument, a first portion protrudes rearward from the back panel and a first recess is carried by the protruding portion. The first recess is dimensioned to receive the mounting rail. A rail cam is rotatably mounted within the protruding portion and is aligned with the first recess to receive and retain the mounting rail and at least one first-portion signal port carried by the first portion. The first portion is dimensioned to fit within the recessed portion of the casing such that the rail cam is positioned to receive the mounting rail and the at least one first-portion signal port is aligned, in a complementary fashion, with the at least one casing signal port. A pole clamp assembly may be positioned near the first and second portions. A pivot member is moveable between a retracted position and an extended position and a post having an axis. The post is mounted to the pivot member for axial movement and mounted thereto such that when the pivot member is retracted the axis of the post is substantially parallel with the back panel and when the pivot member is extended the axis of the post is substantially perpendicular to the back panel.

Modular components preferably include a processor, printer, memory, network communications, and hard drive components.     • An expandable data processing chassis and method of assembly of an expandable data processing chassis includes stackable circuit board housings and a central circuit board housing. The stackable circuit board housings and the central housing each have a rigid interlockable stabilizing frame plate to maintain mechanical tolerances as stackable circuit board housings are added to the stack. Each of the circuit board housings also has an associated backplane for coupling the circuit boards received in each housing to each other and to the central housing. The backplanes also extend to a power backplane for supplying power to the circuit boards received in the expandable data processing chassis.

    • An electrical installation is composed of individual subassemblies with a subrack, and the relative positional accuracy needed to unite the plug-in and mating connections. Furthermore, a plastic holder featuring a hole to accommodate the plug-in connections is provided on the subrack, and a spring part is provided at a defined distance to this hole. Positioning holes are available on a bus board belonging to the subrack at a defined distance from the plug-in connections. At least two projections adapted in position and shape to the positioning holes are provided on the side of the plastic holder turned away from the subassemblies. In the joined state of the bus board and the plastic holder, the plug-in connections extend into the holes.
