摘要： A multi-layer film for vertical form, film and seal systems for liquid, powder, granules and/or other flowables packaging, said multi-layer comprising: an inner layer made of polyethylene, a blend of polyethylenes or ethylene copolymers; a core, comprising one or more than one layer, made from a blend of polypropylene, linear low density polyethylene, a polymer compatibilizer or tie-layer resin, and/or low density polyethylene, said core being applied against the inner layer; and an outer layer (same or different from the inner layer or the core layer) is made of a polyethylene or a blend of polyethylenes with or without ethylene copolymers, said outer layer being applied against the core and opposite the inner layer; said multi-layer film having an overall thickness of lower or equal to 2.5 mil and at least one of the properties listed hereinafter: a stiffness (as measured by 1% secant modulus in the film machine direction) varying from 3500 psi to 150000 psi; a tensile strength at yield of from 1700 psi to 3300 psi; (measured in film machine direction) and a tensile strength at break of from 4300 to 7400 psi (measured in film machine direction). In this method in which a first member made of a plastic material and a second member are bonded together, one surface of the first member to be bonded with the second member is irradiated with energy rays having a quantity of energies not lower than 4 eV, followed by directly bonding the first and second members together without any bonding agent being used.

摘要： An automatic welding machine for planar plastic materials, such as sealing sheets, tarpaulins or films, the chassis, in the welding position, in addition to being carried by the driving unit and the pressure device, also being carried by a rigid guide wheel, preferably in the front region of the chassis. With respect to a pressure roller running essentially on the welded overlap region, the guide wheel is arranged in such a way that, during the welding, it runs along the bottom plastic material parallel to the edge of the top plastic material. In addition, the guide wheel has a narrow running surface. During the welding, the guide wheel runs along the edge of the overlapping plastic material and the pressure roller runs essentially on the weld region. Due to this configuration, the automatic welding machine can follow the edge in such a way as to keep to the track, so that guidance by the operator or frequent corrections of the welding direction are not necessary. This leads to an increased weld quality and also to a higher welding speed. There is less interference from the background or due to the welding device swinging in laterally.

摘要： The invention provides a method for making a golf ball. Two cups are molded from an elastomer separately from an inner sphere. In one embodiment of the method, the cups are molded on both sides of a single mold part with hemispherical protrusions that form cavities in the cups. An inner sphere is placed within the cavities, and the cups are joined, by preferably crosslinking the cups together or applying adhesive there between. To retain the characterisitics of the cup material where the cups meet, an embodiment of the cups can be formed with nonplanar mating surfaces that mesh with each other. The nonplanar mating surfaces preferably have a pattern that is symmetrical about the inner sphere, such as concentric ridges, for example a tongue and a groove.
