摘要： The invention relates to a method of preparing wholly aromatic polyester including: mixing monomers, introducing the mixed monomers into a reactor having a rectangular or trapezoidal plate type stirring impeller, and polymerizing the introduced monomers through esterification with a power per unit volume of 10˜60 kW/m3, a length (L) to diameter (D) ratio of the stirring impeller is 1˜3:1, and a distance between the bottom of the reactor and a lower portion of the stirring impeller is 1/100˜ 1/15 times of the diameter (D); b) pulverizing the obtained polymer; and c) solid state polymerizing the pulverized polymer. The present invention also relates to a method of preparing wholly aromatic polyester having excellent heat resistant properties in which byproduct is effectively discharged by controlling a heating rate and reaction holding time between the weight loss initiating temperature and the melting point of a low molecular weight polymer generated in a melt polymerization in a solid state polymerization, adhesion does not occur, and discoloration due to heating does not occur.

摘要： A process for producing an absorbent polymer including a first mixing event, in which a plurality of absorbent polymer particles (1) are mixed with a liquid (2) and a second mixing event, in which the liquid (2) is homogenized within the interior of the polymer particles. The polymer particles (1) in the first mixing event are mixed with a speed such that the kinetic energy of the individual polymer particles (1) is on average larger than the adhesion energy of the individual polymer particles (1), and the polymer particles (1) in the second mixing event are stirred at a lower speed than in the first mixing event. The different speeds effect a fluidization of the polymer particles (1), which prevents a clumping of the polymer particles (1) during the mixing event. The absorbent polymers thus produced are distinguished by a particularly rapid swelling behavior.

摘要： Methods and systems for the synthesis of alcohol are described herein. The methods and systems incorporate the novel use of a high shear device to promote dispersion and solubility of olefins in water. The high shear device may allow for lower reaction temperatures and pressures and may also reduce reaction time. In an embodiment, a method of making an alcohol comprises introducing an olefin into a water stream to form a gas-liquid stream. The method further comprises flowing the gas-liquid stream through a high shear device so as to form a dispersion with gas bubbles having a mean diameter less than about 1 micron. In addition, the method comprises contacting the gas-liquid stream with a catalyst in a reactor to hydrate the olefin gas and form an alcohol.

摘要： The present invention relates to a process for preparing polyisobutenes by polymerizing isobutene in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst in liquid organic phase, terminating the reaction by admixing the organic phase with an aqueous terminator in a dynamic mixer which has a rotationally symmetric mixing chamber formed from one circumferential wall and two end walls, and a mixing rotor driven such that it rotates therein, the organic phase being introduced through a first inlet orifice provided in the circumferential wall and the aqueous terminator via a second inlet orifice provided in the circumferential wall, and removing a finely dispersed mixture of the organic phase and of the terminator through an outlet orifice provided in the circumferential wall and feeding it to a phase separation. The process serves to prepare high-reactivity polyisobutenes and/or polyisobutenes with narrow molecular weight distribution.

摘要： A business process where hydrogen-depleted carbon, a fuel byproduct, that is removed from pumped-ion, electrochemical engines, or a similar device derived therefrom, is used directly or indirectly to supply carbon that is used as a reactant in solar-powered, liquid-hydrocarbon-fuel synthesizers, or a similar device derived therefrom, the reuse of the recovered carbon thereby yielding a renewable supply of hydrocarbon-based fuel. The synthesized fuel produced by the solar-powered, liquid-hydrocarbon-fuel synthesizers is converted to useful work by the pumped-ion, electrochemical engines. Little to no carbon dioxide gas is exhausted into the atmosphere when solar energy is the sole source of process heat used by the synthesizer.

摘要： A reactor for the oxidation of a precursor to an aromatic carboxylic acid or ester thereof in a liquid phase reaction mixture is disclosed. The reactor comprises an elongate vessel, substantially vertical in use, having an upper mixing element and a lower mixing element, characterised in that the upper mixing element is an axial pumping impeller and the lower mixing element is a radial pumping impeller. A process of producing a carboxylic acid or ester thereof in a reactor of the invention is also disclosed. In use, the configuration of mixing elements leads to three highly turbulent mixing zones. In a preferred embodiment of the process of the present invention oxidant, from one inlet, and solvent, precursor and catalyst, are introduced directly into a mixing zone. The highly turbulent mixing zones lead to rapid mass transfer suppressing the formation of unwanted, coloured by-products and reduced reactor fouling.
