    • An actuator driving device includes: an actuator made of a shape metal alloy having a property that a predetermined shape is memorized in advance, and that the predetermined memorized shape is recovered when the actuator is heated to a predetermined temperature; an applier for applying, to the actuator, a pulse current or a pulse voltage at least having a predetermined current value or a predetermined voltage, and a predetermined duty ratio to heat the actuator; and a determiner for determining the current value or the voltage value, and the duty ratio of the pulse current or the pulse voltage to be applied to the actuator by the applier, wherein the determiner is operative to determine the pulse current or the pulse voltage having: the current value larger than a current value of a constant current required for displacing the actuator by a predetermined targeted displacement amount, or the voltage value corresponding thereto; and the duty ratio of making an applied current amount smaller than an applied current amount corresponding to an integrated value of the constant current in applying the constant current to the actuator.

    • A cover-locking mechanism for locking a cover with respect to a cartridge compartment so that the cover is prevented from being opened when a film cartridge is accommodated inside the cartridge compartment with a film thereof being outside the film cartridge.The cover-locking mechanism is operated by using a driving force to drive either a film-feeding mechanism or a light-intercepting door of the cartridge disposed at an entrance/exit of the film thereof. If the mechanism is of a type of being operated by the driving force of the film-feeding mechanism, it is constructed to be controlled by a driving force to drive the film-feeding mechanism so that the cover is prevented from being opened when the film is outside the cartridge. Meanwhile, if the mechanism is of a type of being operated by the driving force of the light-intercepting door, it is constructed so as to be synchronized with the operation of the light-intercepting door; namely, the light-intercepting door is opened and the compartment cover is prevented from being opened when the film is fed outside the film cartridge, while the light-intercepting door is closed and the compartment cover can be opened when the film is rewound inside the film cartridge.

    • A structure of a cartridge chamber and cover of a camera which uses a film cartridge. The cartridge chamber has a depth such that a predetermined end portion of a film cartridge is exposed along an axis of a spool in the cartridge when the film cartridge is accommodated in the cartridge chamber. Also provided is cover having a configuration for covering the end portion of the film cartridge accommodated in the cartridge chamber when the cover is closed. Thus, the end portion of the film cartridge is exposed when the cover is opened. Also, the cover is locked to restrain the cover from being opened when the cartridge chamber opening is downward and to enable the cover to be opened when the cartridge cover opening is upward. With this construction, the user can open the cover only when the opening of the cartridge is pointed upward in order to prevent the cartridge from dropping from the cartridge chamber inadvertently.
