    • A method for measuring a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) without another test device for testing a radio unit of a base station in a mobile communications system is disclosed. The method for measuring a standing wave ratio for a transmission antenna in a base station of a mobile communications system, which includes at least one transmission antenna, comprises the steps of: (a) generating a test signal by using a given test terminal included in the base station and transmitting the generated test signal to the transmission antenna; (b) upon the test signal being transmitted to the transmission antenna, measuring the strength of a forward signal and a reflect signal for the transmission antenna; and (c) obtaining the difference between the strength of the forward signal, and the strength of the reflect signal and calculating the standing wave ratio for the transmission antenna by using the difference therebetween. A similar method is employed for measuring the standing wave ratio for a reception antenna. Moreover, in another embodiment, a valuable attenuator is adjusted to make the forward and reflect signals equal, and the adjusted signal is used to calculate the VSWR.

    • A scan flip-flop circuit includes a pulse generator, a dynamic input unit and a latch output unit. The pulse generator generates a pulse signal which is enabled in synchronization with a rising edge of a clock signal in a normal mode, and is selectively enabled in synchronization with the rising edge of the clock signal in response to a logic level of a scan input signal in a scan mode. The dynamic input unit precharges a first node to a power supply voltage in a first phase of the clock signal, selectively discharges the first node in the normal mode, and discharges the first node in the scan mode. The latch output unit latches an internal signal provided from the first node to provide an output data, and determines whether the output data is toggled based on the clock signal and a previous state of the output data.

    • An apparatus and method of detecting whether data exists in a received signal while a mobile communication terminal is in discontinuous transmission mode is disclosed. The apparatus and method comprises generating and transmitting a forward power control command for providing the forward power control, and performing forward power control in a mobile communication system. According to the forward power control method, a power control command is generated based on a received frame including a plurality of slots each of which includes power control bits. The ratio of the power control bit energy to noise energy, which is given by a ratio of the accumulated energy of the power control bits in the slots of the received frame to an accumulated energy value of noise in the slots of the received frame, is provided, and the power control command based on a ratio of the accumulated energy value of traffic symbol bits in the slots to the accumulated energy value of the power control bits is generated when the provided ratio of the power control bits to noise is acceptable.

    • A forward link power control device for a mobile communication system supporting as transmission diversity function. The power control device comprises a base station device and mobile station device. The base station device transmits a traffic signal via at least two antennas, switches the traffic signal to be transmitted to any one of the two antennas based on a power control group period, and equally controls transmission power of the traffic signal being transmitted to the antennas according to power control information received via a reverse link. The mobile station device receives signals output from the antennas of the base station using one antenna, separately measure power of a traffic signal and an interference signal received for a power control group duration which is at least twice an antenna switching time of the base station device, averages the measured value to generate a power control information and multiplexes the power control information to a reverse link transmission signal to transmit the power control information to the base station.

    • A CDMA communication system provides a dedicated control channel capable of efficiently communicating control messages between a base station and a mobile station. In a dedicated control channel transmission device, a controller determines a frame length of a message to be transmitted and outputs a frame select signal corresponding to the determined frame length. A message generator generates frame data of the message to be transmitted according to the frame select signal. A transmitter spreads the frame data and transmitting the spread frame data through a dedicated control channel. In a dedicated control channel reception device, a despreader despreads a received signal. A first message receiver deinterleaves and decodes the despread signal in a first frame length to output a first message, and detects a first CRC corresponding to the decoded signal. A second message receiver deinterleaves and decodes the despread signal in a second frame length to output a second message, and detects a second CRC corresponding to the decoded signal. A controller selects one of the first and second messages according to first and second CRC detection results.
