摘要： A multi-motion lifting and transferring apparatus and method are disclosed. The multi-motion lifting and transferring apparatus and method may be realized in primarily two versions, the first being referred to as the single linkage arm version, and the second being referred to as the dual linkage arm version. In one particular exemplary embodiment, a multi-motion lifting and transferring apparatus in accordance with the single linkage arm version may be realized as having a first pivot point for rotating an intermediary support member about a first substantially vertical axis, a second pivot point for rotating an electrically or hydraulically powered up/down extension arm about a second substantially vertical axis, and a seat support member for supporting a seat for accommodating at least one person.

摘要： The present invention enhances the laser desorption of biological molecular ions from surfaces by creating a surface localized MALDI particle matrix by ion implantation of low energy ionized clusters (gold, aluminum, etc.) or chemically derivatized clusters into the near surface region of the sample. MALDI analysis of the intact biomolecules on the surface or within a narrow subsurface region defined by the implantation range of the ions can then be performed by laser desorption into a mass spectrometer or, in a preferred embodiment, into a combined ion mobility orthogonal time of flight mass spectrometer.

The electrically actuated lifting and transferring apparatus has a mounting bracket, wherein the mounting bracket has a first support means; an offset bracket, wherein the offset bracket is pivotally mounted to the first support means, and wherein the offset bracket has a second support means; a lift assembly, wherein the lift assembly is pivotally mounted to the second support means, wherein the lift assembly has a third support means, and wherein the lift assembly has an electrical actuator for vertically adjusting the height of the third support means relative to the second support means; a swing arm, wherein the swing arm is pivotally mounted to the third support means, and wherein the swing arm has a fourth support means; and a yoke for supporting a harness, wherein the yoke is pivotally mounted to the fourth support means. The offset bracket provides a vertical and horizontal extension from the mounting bracket to the lift assembly. All of the pivotal mounting is unsecured pivotal mounting whereby the apparatus is easily disassembled into the individual elements.

The power lift and transfer system may further transport the wheeled or other mobility device from a position in a rear or on top of the vehicle to passenger or driver areas of the vehicle, and then assist the user by means of a conveyor belt to transfer laterally into the automobile seat.

In one particular embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a portable lifting and transferring apparatus for assisting disabled persons that is compact, lightweight, and portable for use in different locations. Preferably, such an apparatus would provide multiple pivot points for providing multiple degrees of maneuvering freedom when lifting and transferring disabled persons and/or their mobility devices and for providing compatibility with a wide range of vehicles. The techniques may also be realized in other embodiments as disclosed herein.
