摘要： A facsimile apparatus designed for reduced power consumption, a smaller number of component parts, smaller size, lighter weight and lower cost includes an original reading section having a contact-type line image sensor and a first biasing roller driven so as to be rotated in a state in which the contact-type line image sensor is biased, a recording section arranged in the vicinity of the original reading section and having a line thermal head and a second biasing roller driven so as to be rotated in a state in which the line thermal head is biased, a driving mechanism in which a reversible motor is used as a drive source, a rocking mechanism for driving solely the first biasing roller when the motor is rotatively driven in one direction and driving both the first and second biasing rollers when the motor is rotatively driven in the other direction, and a power transmission mechanism in which the rocking mechanism is arranged in a power transmission system for driving the first and second biasing rollers. The rocking mechanism drives solely the first biasing roller at the end of each operation (transmission, reception, copying), with the second biasing roller being made free and independent of the power transmission mechanism. As a result, recording paper clamped between the second biasing roller and the thermal head can be pulled out with ease.

摘要： A facsimile apparatus selectively uses a cut recording sheet or a roll-like recording sheet. The facsimile apparatus has a housing, constituting the outer surface of the apparatus. An original reading section is provided for conveying an original between a first opening portion, formed in a front portion of the upper surface of the housing, and a front surface opening portion, formed in a front surface of the housing. A recording section is provided for inserting a recording sheet through a second opening portion, formed in the upper surface of the housing at a position closer to the rear side than the first opening portion and for discharging the recording sheet through the first opening portion. A roll-like sheet holder supplies a roll-like recording sheet from a rear portion of the housing.

摘要： An image feeding apparatus for feeding sheets by separating sheets one by one by a separating device has a pickup arm and a stopper. The uppermost document of stacking documents to be copied contacts and downwardly press down the pickup arm, and then the pickup arm and the uppermost document downwardly press down the stopper so as to make a passage of the uppermost document. After the uppermost document passes through, the stopper ascents by gravity in response to elevation of the pickup arm. The stopper can be reliably operated by a simple and low-cost construction.

The control unit drives the drive unit by an amount of driving sufficient for an image reading unit to move in a predetermined direction to abut the stop members, controls the drive unit to move the sensor so as to detect the position mark, and updates the positional information of the memory unit to a predetermined initial value based on the detection of the position mark by the sensor. The image reading device can store data of a reference position promptly even if a photo-interrupter is not provided when the data of the reference position is not stored in a memory unit.
